Which camping bed do I need?

Air beds are available in different sizes, just like your bed at home. Look out for:

Single air beds - perfect for smaller sized tents.
Double air beds - which can fit a couple of sleeping bags on top.
Flocked beds - meaning beds that are fitted with a special layer to avoid needing to use sheets.

And which air bed pump?

Blowing up an air bed can require a good few pumps when using a manual foot pump, but most can manage this in a matter of minutes. If you’re needing to pump up large beds, or multiple beds, then an electric air bed pump might be a better option for you.

How to deflate an air mattress

It’s pretty easy. First, take off your bedding and open the valve all the way. Most of the air will rush out on its own. Then just press down or roll it up slowly from one end to squeeze out whatever’s left. If yours came with a pump that has a deflate setting, that makes it even quicker. Once it’s flat, fold or roll it up and you’re good to go.

Are camping mats comfortable?

Surprisingly, yes. Some of them, like self-inflating mats, give you nice even support and don’t take up much space. They’re great if you’re travelling light or don’t want the hassle of blowing up an air bed. Whether you want something basic or a bit more padded, there are loads of options out there and Halfords has plenty to choose from.
