Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.Rated 4 out of 5 by Racerpig Okay but no lube in the freehub and cones set wrong side of hub... Bough a set to replace crash damaged Giant OEMs after a fast frontal with a raised paving slab lol, they fitted straight on but within about 10 miles I noticed a loose sounding metallic rattling when freewheeling. purchased a 12mm hex (after Simon at Halfords gave me an 11mm adapter to do job with... it's 12mm just so you guys know :) also I discovered with both the Giant and Halfords rear wheels they both came with the wrong side of the axle cones locked making the cones loosen off as well, I have cured the lot and okay the rear may as well cost me £65 but still I am loaded with panniers and ride fast and hard daily to work. Nice wheels for Blackpool weather :) 27 May 2016Rated 2 out of 5 by Thearcanist Rim failed This is a replacement for a similar wheel which I bought two years ago. The rim had worn through where the brakes make contact. It really should have lasted longer. 25 April 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by moval great wheel yo bought from Halfords Poole. Its a double butted rim, 36 spokes, and true. I am a heavy rider and commute 15miles per day . so far no problems. I will buy a spare 20 March 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Mik34567 Robust, good value wheel After months of hassle with a standard rear wheel on my Specialized hybrid (continual loss of tension in spokes and buckling) I bought this wheel. I've not looked back in the two months I've been using it. It's as true today as it was when I bought it and I've had had to do nothing to it. It's strong and of good build quality, despite being a touch heavier than the standard wheel it replaced. The quick release mechanism was a bit cheap, hence only 4 stars on quality, so I ended up binning it and using the one from the wheel it was replacing. 12 September 2015Rated 4 out of 5 by IanTheDad47 Boardman standard tyer are bad When I give this Boardman to my son he put it in the garage and knocked a a standard size tin of paint onto the back tyer and it bent and snapped the some of the spokes and straight away I bought his and got it changed bit more weight to it but better quality tyer 23 June 2015Rated 4 out of 5 by Cyclepath007 Good product at good price A good quality standard for no frills wheel. Bought as replacement on Marin hybrid bike. Comes with freehub fitted and mount for disc brake if required. 13 June 2015Rated 4 out of 5 by SwindonGeoff Good, strong wheel Like other reviewers I bought this wheel to replace the rear wheel on my Boardman MX Race. After 3000 miles of fairly hard use, including 9 broken spokes and many trueings, the cheap and nasty 32 spoke o.e.m wheel on the Boardman started to completely disintegrate and I replaced it with one of these. 1. It's a 36 spoke wheel - So it's already stronger than most 32 spoke jobs. I do a 15 mile mixed road/path/track commute on wordays and usually about 50 miles at weekends - ALWAYS with loaded Topeak rear panniers. No problems after 300 miles. The wheel is as true as the day I fitted it. 2. The wheel comes with a shimano type freehub body already fitted - (That must be at least £15 worth?) - so you don't even need to find your 11mm allen key to remove your old freehub body. 3. After I swapped the disk over the wheel dropped straight into my Boardman. 4. The extra weight is negligible and, to be honest, if you need the extra strength of a 36 spoke wheel you're probably not really bothered about a few extra grammes. I like having a 36 spoke wheel so much that I'm going to stick one on the rear end of my next Boardman and hang the o.e.m one on the garage wall as an ornament. 24 February 2015Rated 5 out of 5 by Benjjjjj Cheap, but reliable! A great basic wheel for a commuter bike. Some wheels are on the market for hundreds, but I wanted something cheap and simple, yet reliable. I've been riding with this for 2 weeks with no problems. Great buy for anyone not wanting to spend too much! 02 January 2015
