SKS Trekking Reflective Mudguard Set - 700c x 45mm is rated out of 5 by 14.Rated 5 out of 5 by MarcyL from SKS Trekking Reflective Mudguard Set These mudguards are lightweight, look good and have the added bonus of reflective detailing. Rated the quality as good as they were fitted recently and I can't comment on durability just yet. Bought them in black. Happy with the purchase.Date published: 2017-04-30Rated 5 out of 5 by alan345 from Great product (if you invest some time) So I'd read that these mudguards were fiddly to put on and that you needed to invest some time to get the right fit. Absolutely agree. Key to the fitting is working out how the 'stays' secure to the mudguard in order that you can size the length needed and the fit of the mudguard to the wheel. I sat for a good 20 minutes (coffee in hand) reading the instructions and trying to relay these to the parts provided. The Instructions are ok to a point but there's nothing like physically putting things together (trying this, trying that) until that Eureka moment when you realise that's how it works. Really pleased with the end result, cleverly designed, you just need to invest some time. I intended taking them off each summer but I'll leave them on as fitting is fiddly. That said they are great quality and look really good, especially with the reflective strip. A great bit of kit.Date published: 2016-11-07Rated 5 out of 5 by ZakBee2 from Superb mudguards but a pig to fit! Decided to fit mudguards on my 1988 Denton Reynolds 531 Cross bike after getting fed up of having a soaked bottom and a dirty line up my jacket with our wonderful British weather. As I am running 700Cx35 tyres needed the Trekking mudguard and the SKS is the best on the market. However this is not a 10 minute job! Three hours later I had managed to successfully fit the mudguards but this entailed shortening all of the stainless steel stays and boy they are strong! Also needs to trim the lower front of the rear guard to fit between and fix onto the chain stays. Not a job for the faint hearted or for the non-expert. You need a heavy duty wire or cable cutter, 8 mm spanner and the confidence to cut bits off your new mudguards. However the end result is great and they fit beautifully. Now have a go-anywhere bike which will at last keep the rear of me dry!Date published: 2016-06-27Rated 4 out of 5 by Buhdjs from Mudguards Product arrived in store early and they contacted me. On visiting store cycle manager was excellent ,explaining that this product was not right for my Halfords bought bike, and very knowledgeably directed me to ones that were suitable .he was good and very helpful .Date published: 2015-12-30Rated 5 out of 5 by Paul2c from Great set of mudguards Brilliant set of mudguards, seem to be of good quality. Note that the 45mm width refers to the actual mudguard, and so would not be ideal for 45mm tyres. Anything up to around 38mm tyres would be fine with this size.Date published: 2015-11-07Rated 4 out of 5 by Alanicus2 from They do the job The mudguards are of average quality but probably robust enough to do the job. I found them a bit fiddly to install but that was probably due to my own incompetence. I also found that the stays were too long for my bike so had to use the old ones as I didn't want to risk shortening them with a hack saw but not sure if that was a fault or by design. Now that they are in place I am quite happy as theys eem to provide good protection and clearance for the tyres. It would be good if there was a mud flap on the rear tyre and not just the front.Date published: 2015-09-22Rated 4 out of 5 by Minionruss from Good choice I bought these for the boardman cx comp they look great with the reflective stripes it kind of matches the lettering on the bike i had to bend one of the rods to go round the caliper but that was easy enough. I havent been out in the rain yet but it has kept me dry through puddlesDate published: 2015-08-17
