Do exactly what I needed them to do.Date published: 2016-10-11Rated 1 out of 5 by Tim50 from falling apart after three months I have had these for about three month on my bike and I am sorry to say they are now held together with tape. I will be removing them and scrapping them soon. They are a nice ideas and looked very smart initially but they are just too flimsyDate published: 2016-02-06Rated 5 out of 5 by Paul291161 from Mudguards Great value for money very easy to install works great in night time conditionsDate published: 2016-01-28Rated 5 out of 5 by NIPINARELLO from BE SEEN BE SAFE VERY PLEASED WITH THIS PRODUCT AND LOOK GREAT ON MY BOARDMAN ROAD BIKE. FITTING WAS EASY AND CAN BE REMOVED EASILY FOR CLEANING. THE MAIN FEATURE OF COURSE IS THE LIGHTING BOTH THE FRONT AND REAR MUDGUARD GIVE AND ARE VISIBLE FOR A GOOD DISTANCE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT FOR ANYONE RIDING IN POORLY LIT CONDITIONS AND CLUB RIDERS WHO ARE TRAINING DURING THE WINTER MONTHS.Date published: 2015-12-10Rated 1 out of 5 by Simon26 from Good concept - they are just useless I was shown these mud guards when purchasing the Boardman Hybrid Pro and they looked great and seemed like a really good idea. So, despite my inclanation not to buy products with gizmos I purchased them thinking how bad could they be, the answer is horrendus - i now have a great bike which I am really happy with, but, on my ride to work the mud guards often scrape against the tyre when I go over a bump in the road as they are moved out of place, so i then need to get off my bike and fiddle around with them until they are at the neccasary clearing again - then one of the plastic attachments snapped and I took them back and got them replaced - then today on my first ride back on the bike they have again come loose and one of the attachments has fallen off - what ever you do don't buy this product especially if you are going for one of the Boardman bikes as it ruins the whole experienceDate published: 2015-08-03Rated 2 out of 5 by MilesandMiles from Nice idea, poor execution. Really liked the idea of mudguards with integrated strip lighting to increase general visibility on the road. However the lack of secure and robust fitting have let the whole product down and I'm back to Halfords to see what they can do. Used only infrequently and rapidly gave up on the front guard because the fitting at the rear of the front fork crown was so insecure. Persevered with the rear guard but a bit of fast riding on a rough cyclepath has left the rear fitting at the rear seatstay bridge broken. All in all disappointing.Date published: 2015-06-19Rated 4 out of 5 by TheGruffFellow from Lights? Fantastic I've previously tried or used a few different sets of mudguards for a road bike with limited (or no) room for standard guards. These include: - a set of Crud Raceguards that wouldn't fit under the rear brake bridge but were pieced together and felt very flimsy. - a set of SKS Raceblade Longs that wore through a couple of the metal bridge supports, had one fastening mechanism fail and eventually snapped across the mudguard four or five inches back from the rear brake. - two sets of SKS Raceblades that were quite sturdy, provided almost as much coverage as the Longs, but both fronts snapped between the lower stay and the mudguard flap. I reckon the weight and size of the flap meant it caught the wind and flapped around so much it fatigued the mudguard itself. Both exchanged by Halfords under warranty without any issues. So I needed replacements and these looked good, with the light strip providing added rigidity to the guards at the expense of a little weight. Hey, you can offset the weight by ditching a rear light, right?.... Well, they would have been expensive but managed to catch a sale weekend so got them at a good price that made them rather more palatable. Fitting was similar to the Raceblades, but the lower supports seem to provide a little more stability. With the light strip bulging on the underside of the mudguard they need to sit a little higher for clearance. The extra support into the brake bridge or forks provides a little more stability than the unconnected Raceblades. The back one took a bit of fiddling to get the guard in line with the tyre all along its length. This is maybe a little longer than the Raceblade; the front is about as long as the front Raceblade without its rubber extender, so exposes your foot to a bit more spray. I don't tend to be out when it is lashing down, so protection has been ok for me on wet roads. The lights are good in full dark, but I'm not convinced they are effective enough in half-light and still use a rear light. At least they are a secondary light so you should always have one available. With both guards lit you can always swap the batteries if the rear one dies.Date published: 2015-06-10Rated 3 out of 5 by Delmac from Mixed Values What a difficult item to review. The concept is fantastic. Lightweight mudguards with integral led lighting. The product works exceptionally when fitted. It's the fitting that they fall down on. The stretchy rubber straps tear and break very easily. Within a week, I'd had to fix three of the four stays to the front and rear forks with cable ties. The front guard uses and expanding split plastic grommet to secure the guard to the hole at the rear of the brake unit on the fork crown. The unit cannot expand enough to grip before it fails. Halfords staff were brilliant though.Date published: 2015-03-10
