Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 48 reviewers.Rated 5 out of 5 by PeamanonaBike Good item Bought this bike carrier following the good reviews and the online discount offered by Halfords. Reserved online and collected from Lincoln as I happened to be in Lincoln that weekend. Very friendly and efficient service at Lincoln. Assembled the carrier with relative ease, I would recommend that you use an Allen Key on a ratchet or socket bar as a normal one doesn't give you the required leverage. When you fit the strap tensioner a to the wheel rests consider what hand you are, as it's easier to have the buckles to the rear of the carrier if like me you are right handed. It's easier to put it in the tow bar with 2 people, tightens up well and is pretty stable when loaded on the rural roads of Lincolnshire. I did use some rag between bikes to prevent any scratching, and use elastic bungee cords instead of the provided straps for holding bikes on. Instructions are pretty awful to be honest, you need a degree of common sense to work them out. There is a key and a lock for locking to towbar, but I cannot work out how this works, and the poor instructions don't tell you. Instructions need to have more words in them. All in all a good value for money product, . 01 October 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Ben007 Simple yet effective Had a look at a number of 4 bike racks before deciding on this one. I felt it offered all of the features I was after, especially the tilt function, for the best price. Building the rack is pretty straight forward and the instructions are clear. This is a heavy rack and getting it positioned on the tow bar the first time takes a little practice but once you've got the hang of it it's pretty straight forward. Plenty of straps supplied to keep the bikes attached, the only small negative is that it can be pretty fiddly getting the wheel straps pulled through the clasps but that is a very minor point. Tilt function also works very well for getting access to the boot when you are loaded up with bikes. 25 August 2016Rated 3 out of 5 by KJWillis Instructions Although the end product looks pretty good bar the faffing about with the straps the instructions were abysmal. Each stage we had to work our ourself as there was no narrative and as a consequence was totally unclear. 11 August 2016Rated 4 out of 5 by Swanie12 Exodus bike carrier Great product. Glad I spent the extra money and bought a 4 bike carrier. Easy to fit and most importantly has the tilt mechanism, essential for accessing the boot. Drove over 600 miles to France last week with it and was really sturdy. 01 August 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by MUD88 A bike rack that will hold 4 bikes Ive tried several bike racks with mixed results but with this Exodus 4 bike rack I can actually get 4 bikes (2 adult full sus,a 24" wheel mtb and my daughters 9years old mtb).....Great bit of kit and easy to use. Despite what the company says this will fit on a Land Rover Discovery 2004 18 June 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Verified Reviewer Great product I bought this trailer at the last minute for a Center Parcs trip. I am very impressed. It was in stock locally and after buying it, it went together in 20 mins. It held 3 full sized and a childs bike with no problems at all. You have to be sure the pedals are in the right spot for the next bike to sit next to them! Food for thought. The whole unit 'wobbles' a bit when driving. The movement comes from the pivot mechanism though, not the tow bar clamp itself. That is completely solid. From what I have read on forums this is typical of pivoting trailers and nothing to worry about. It takes a bit of time to strap everything on but i'm sure i'll get quicker with a bit more use. 23 May 2016Rated 4 out of 5 by webgeeze Solid and recommended Overall, this is a good bit of kit and it locks onto the tow ball effectively and securely. I have every confidence once it's fitted properly. My only gripe is storage once it's off the car and you really need to be careful. The light board and license section at the back is weak and prone to damage easily if you rest it on the ground upright. The unit is heavy and that flimsy plastic just won't take it, as I found out and others too it seems. The workaround is to store it so it rests on the upright bike supports and the the tail is in the air. Just need to be careful. Overall, it's solid, robust and takes 4 bikes no problem. It does take a bit of getting used to, getting the straps right to secure the bikes properly and I have added more straps than the ones provided, They work but they are a bit fiddly and if your hands are cold and it's raining, much cursing can be heard from me while my family sit in the warm waiting for me lol I would recommend it, but i would wait for a deal to get it a bit cheaper. I paid £179 and I am happy with that. The lock is a bit simple and my mates one broke after a year, but that doesn't stop the bike rack being used. The tow ball mount mechanism is solid and well constructed. 23 April 2016Rated 2 out of 5 by Alongnickname pretty poor It holds 4 bikes but the way that it tells you to connect the straps means that it is extremely difficult to do so without cutting your hands every time you use it. I have changed my straps strap away from the car which is better. The lighting board is also week so you can't store in an upright position, I tried and broke the lighting board :( Would I buy again - No. I would pay more. These issues are simple and should have been identified and rectified at product testing time. Disappointing. 19 April 2016
