ReviewsBoardman MX Comp Bike 2014 30 30Fantastic package I am another older guy who needs to lose weight and get a lot fitter as I tip over the age of 50. I have researched and read as much as I could before I settled on the boardman range and am very pleased I did. I had fantastic service from Nath at the Ponterfract store and had initially gone to purchase a hybrid comp but as they had a cancelled order of the MX comp ( which was slightly out of my budget) at a reduced price I jumped at the chance, and together with the reduction in price and the spend and save offer which halfords were running I was able to buy the MX comp with good lights, trip computer and a three year care plan for an amazing price. I was a little embarrassed when I first went into the cycle section of the store as I am no lean cyclist and as I said need to lose weight and get fitter which I explained to Nath, but I was put at my ease and was very impressed with the service and knowledge that I received. I love the MX comp which is light and very well speced for the price and feel very confident that this has been the right choice and coupled with the service have already received, and the service plan I purchased, I feel confident to get out and use this wonderful bike to help me get back to a higher level of fitness. 21 November 2014My first Hybrid and very happy Great bike, first hybrid, wanted to get back into cycling, bit on road and bit off road. And this seems to do the job. Can lock out front suspension. Work friend advised this against MX sport due to the brakes Build service was good, although rear brake is stopping wheel from free wheeling, but sure it will be sorted at 6 week service. 21 October 2014What I found A few things to check before you take it home after a halfords build check all the nuts for pump and water cradle are in place I had one missing, check all cables are in there ties mine wern't . Performance wise not bad tires not best in the wet and the hefty price tag don't include any extras mudguard cradle and pump are all extra, pedals are not ideal for speed and cornering (they hit the floor) recommend change them for smaller ones apart from the negatives I've mentioned it's a good ride with good gear select once you find the gear selecteters need long thumbs lol 11 October 2014Boardman MX Comp Bike 2014 - A great bike! I have been interested in the Boardman range for some time an when the inevitable time came to replace my ageing bike it didn't take long to concentrate on just that range. Not that made things simple - the range is large and excellent. It took some time to first choose between mountain bike and hybrid then longer to select a specific model. Finally settling on the MX Comp I now know this was an excellent choice, meeting all my requirements, and was a good price! 05 October 2014Excellent New to the cycling world, I thought I'd invest in a good bike and picked the Boardman MX Comp Hybrid. It's light, well made, swift gear changes, designed and styled nicely and after riding it now for a few weeks, it's a great bike and I would recommend it to anyone. 01 October 2014Beautiful Bike This Bike is brilliant. Well made and I love the colour scheme. It is a joy to ride. It is certainly worth the money. 24 September 2014Excellent Bike I couldn't believe just how good this bike was. My previous bike was cheap rubbish so it wouldn't be difficult to beat it. A week later I was still amazed on just how good the MX comp was. A hybrid was definitely the way to go as I can do my daily commute faster due to the bigger but thinner wheels but can still cycle down the canal tow path at speed with ease. You get a lot of good kit on this bike considering its price 14 September 2014Great looking bike Changed over from mountain bike ,mainly ride tow paths cycle routes ,ride comfort harder due to smaller profile tyres ,average speed up approx 3 mph higher .pedals are rubbish 13 September 2014
