Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 119 reviewers.Rated 4 out of 5 by Cotters68 Great all round bike Firstly, the size of the bike is perfect for me, I am 5'10 (plus a bit) and I got a 55.5. I had wanted this bike for some time and had done my research. I am unlikely to actually 'cyclo cross', but I do love my cycling and I imagined it would be a perfect winter bike and also good for some canal side trails every now and gain. And it is. Lots of the reviews I read prior highlight 2 issues which I would comment on as follows: 1. Brakes - the Avid 5's are great but DON'T expect not to have to learn how to set them up. You will have to take the wheel out at some point and in my experience of both hydraulic and cable pull discs, you need to know how to adjust them every now and again. Just watch the instructions on the 'Park Tool' web site and after a few goes you will get the hang of it. 2. BB30 - I couldn't believe it, just as with numerous other reviews it creaked from the word go. The reason - NO grease, NONE. This is a fundamental failing at wherever the bikes are assembled before the shop builds up the rest of the bike IMO. It cost me £20 to rectify (as I didn't go to the Halfords dealer to remedy). Notwithstanding the issues with the BB - great bike. 23 August 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Madmatt130 Good value I recently bought one of these as has my wife. They are good quality, although i managed to snap a chain on mine in the first 100 miles, sorted quickly under warranty. 07 July 2016Rated 3 out of 5 by CHEZ52 ANOTHER BOTTOM BRACKET FAULT great bike , looks good but only had 12months and bottom bracket has had to be replaced and brake pad have had to be replaced as i only use 1-2 times a week i feel i have been let down by boardman using cheap parts 04 July 2016Rated 3 out of 5 by M4ttc Boardman CX Team after 30 miles This is a good bike that lives up to the Boardman name. Lovely finish and good looks as their bikes tend to do. I've always used Shimano 105 but find the SRAM double tap fairly easy to get used to. Seen responsive and efficient The BB5 disc brakes are a little fiddly. Even putting the front wheel on can be challenging to centre the disc inside the calliper If you intend to use this bike on the Road, change they tyres immediately. The Rapid Robs are not road tyres and they do not roll well at all on Tarmac. If you are riding on grass then fine. 18 August 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Scott39 2014 cyclocross Excellent bike, rides very well both on and off road. As expected the bike is not as quick on the road as a road bike but it's brilliant for commuting or mixed terrain. I've never been an extreme off road but for me the bike rides as good as a mountain bike, Rides brilliantly down hill. It's took me a little while in getting to grips with the disc breaking system (no pun intended) but after watching a couple of on line clips I realised its relatively straight forward. 07 August 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Slyfox57 Excellent bike, well worth a look. Purchased this for my son as I have a similar model. Excellently thought out and put together bike which is a pleasure to ride. Great price and managed to get £100 free kit with it which is a massive bonus. Halfords staff were friendly and very helpful, particularly Mat in Hedge End. 06 August 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Canalman Smooth ride Changing from mountain biking to road biking, I found this bike an excellent choice and I am really pleased with its performance; and the guys at Halford's have been really helpful 16 April 2016Rated 3 out of 5 by Sharribo Boardman team cx Not a good start didn't go 10ft before realising bottom bracket had issues, halfords did try to swap it but they struggled to get it done after an hour and a failed attempt they ended up swapping the bike for the display model, clearly boardman have serious design issues, shame as its a lovely bike, Cables wear the frame and forks away buy some cable protectors early. Will see how the next few months go after a repair and a replacement. 07 March 2016
