EBCO UCL30 Electric Bike is rated out of 5 by 20.Rated 5 out of 5 by MiddleAgedBiker from Great bike that takes away the hills A great power assisted pedal bike. The motor works well and assists with cycling. You still have to pedal to get any effect so there is always some exercise taking place. You can't just sit there and let the bike do all the work. On hills the additional power modes help make the world seem flat. Great for a short but previously hilly commute. No more car. Even popping to the shops is now on the bike as there is no fear of hills. You may want to factor in buying 2 panniers so that you can use the bike to carry your shopping and save car usage. Set up by Halfords was OK. I was not given a demo of the features of the bike. Which is a shame put I could figure it all out for myself eventually. Halfords have also missed fitting the front cable clamp so that will need to be rectified at the 6 week check up.Date published: 2016-01-07Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Fantastic provided you understand the pros & cons of an electric bike I bought this bike because I wanted to commute to the office by bike but I wanted to ride my bike to work wearing my office clothes and make up and arrive intact. i didn't want to have to dress up in lycra or have a shower when I got there. That has definitely been the case. I've been commuting on this bike all summer and it is a joy. My ride home calms me down. I still feel my thigh muscles getting a workout and I get lots of fresh air. This is an electric bike not a hybrid. I thought that I would sometimes use the electric and sometimes not but I've ended up using electric all the time. The biggest drawback is that it is very heavy. It is much harder to steer it into the bike shed at work than my manual bike and I have a few bruises. On one occasion it ran out of charge and I had to get off the bike and push it up the hill. It was just too heavy to ride without the extra power. I have no problem riding my manual bike up the same hill. It has gears but I hardly use them. I just pedal. It is very easy to charge. So I have absolutely no regrets about buying this bike. My only advice is just understand what you are buying. It is very different to a manual bike.Date published: 2015-09-07Rated 5 out of 5 by sitcher99 from great bike Great bike not to heavy.easy to use and charge. Wish l had one year's ago .Date published: 2015-07-10Rated 5 out of 5 by Pamjam from Great electric bike I am really pleased with this bicycle,it's easy to operate and really well made,it sails up the hill where I shop.Date published: 2015-07-10Rated 5 out of 5 by Geoffrey61 from Quality made bike not very heavy Superb bike good for exercise if you get worn out I use the electric motor and quite good on the miles approx 20to30 on one charge but note it's has very expensive parts and battery at £500,and do not lose the keys as £39.99 for 1 key,so in one or more years you will need a new battery. do not be put of I now have 3 Ebco ucl 30 e bikes and well impressed with quality of buildDate published: 2015-06-10Rated 5 out of 5 by Grandbag from Does exactly what it promises. We had this delivered direct to home and assembled it myself which was really easy as only the handlebars and saddle need fitting and adjusting. The assistance is good and one can turn it off or on whilst in motion. Thus far have only needed to use the lowest level of assistance and am absolutely delighted with performance. Instruction book isn't the best but you soon find out how things work by trial & error.Date published: 2015-06-10Rated 4 out of 5 by GobiDobi from Recommended with caution I have already written a review. The bike is good and certainly opens up new horizons. HOWEVER. Although the batteries should last a couple of years; the makers tell me that new ones cost - wait for it . . . £450!!!!! I was stunned! I couldn't believe it!! So - you MIGHT want to bear that in mind?Date published: 2015-05-29Rated 5 out of 5 by lugabugs from Great service from Halfords. First I would like to thank Mathew and Carl at the M/cr rd. Stockport branch of Halfords for the fantastic service I received when I had a faulty battery charger. Many thanks! The bike itself is very well built and seems to be good quality. I am 71yrs. and not very fit these days so this bike as given my cycling days a boost. It is great fun to ride, hills, no bother, wind against, no bother. Wish I had bought years ago!Date published: 2015-04-10
