Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 80 reviewers.Rated 5 out of 5 by Zacco Excellent bike Picked this bike from the Stockton branch due price and availability. Very pleased with the purchase. Good smooth ride with excellent disc brakes my only niggle is that the gear changes could be smoother. This is a very attractive bike so will make nickable good security is a must. 04 May 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Guderian Great value I bought this because it was a 2014 model, ex-display, in the bank-holiday sale. It's only been a few weeks, but I'm happy so far. The SRAM shifters take a bit of getting used to after using Shimano for years, but they fire quickly and accurately (after a little adjustment). The brakes are great, much better than cable disks and are very progressive. The saddle is surprisingly comfortable, but I'll be replacing it with a gel saddle for longer rides. The best thing about it is the light weight compared to my old steel-frame MTB - this is really easy to pick up and carry when required, although I've yet to fix mudguards, lock and bottle carriers. The worst thing is that the standard pedals (which are pretty rubbish) have been over-tightened so I can't get them off to replace them with my cleats. 13 June 2016Rated 4 out of 5 by Viking44 Good bike poor service The bike is great, I use it for comuting 20 miles a day to anf from work on cycle path, canal path and roads so its perfect. Great position, gears and brakes - now I've re-built it! - you know the score! 07 May 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by hewplum Great bike Great Service I picked one of these beauties up this morning from Redhill branch. Firstly I have to say how good the service was I received from the fella's there... Thank you for setting up the bike perfectly. The bike itself is really good! Its specs defy the price particularly as the deal meant a £100 worth of accessories! Been out on a quick ride to get a feel for this bile and I was very impressed - smooth rolling, quiet and responsive gear changes all added up to a satisfied customer. If you can get one ( not many left ) you wont be disappointed. 06 February 2016Rated 3 out of 5 by tjwood Rust I've been riding my Boardman MX Comp for just over 12 months. Nice bike but the bearings in the headset recently rusted up and so the steering seized. Took it to Halfords and paid for it to be fixed. They admitted to replacing with the wrong size bearings but said it should be ok as long as I don't pull it apart. However, as soon as I took the bike back out on the road there was a concerning amount of movement in the steering. Would have expected better service as they had the bike for a good couple of weeks and as a distributor for Boardman, I would have thought they could source the correct part. The little blue plastic leaver that adjusts the suspension has also fallen off. I was told it would cost £70 to replace and that without it muck could get into the suspension which would ruin the forks. I couldn't bring myself to spend £70 on a tiny bit of blue plastic. I wrote to Boardman to see if they could help with these parts but its been 3 weeks and no reply. 28 January 2016Rated 3 out of 5 by CHED80 Good bike, you get what you pay for The bike seems like it is good and comfortable to ride. I'm not convinced that it was not built properly as it has a problem with the gears and brakes not working well. Second time that has gone back in only a few weeks 01 March 2016Rated 3 out of 5 by Verified Reviewer Disappointed The bike is just about OK, nothing special and I am not wowed by it. I Rode a rental Trek on holiday recently for two weeks and that was superb by comparison. The two front ring gear system is very clunky and the ratios at the back very close, just don't need them all. It could do with a higher and lower gear overall. I don't see that the tyres protect much as I have had three punctures in six rides over roads I have ridden for years on a road bile with slicks and no problems. Brakes were sticky and catching within a few miles of starting out. May be it is the original set up at the store that was the problem and I will grow to appreciate the bike but for now I don't know what the fuss is about. 31 December 2015Rated 5 out of 5 by Tomo47 Great Bike Quality product at a good price, not put together and checked very well had to sort the gears out and tighten bits when i got home 13 February 2016
