Raleigh Evo-2 Folding Bike is rated out of 5 by 33.Rated 5 out of 5 by Jlloma from Very sturdy and works well Had this bike nearly a year and had no problems with it. Very sturdy frame and anti puncture tyres. The downside to this is that it's quite heavy. Really happy with the bike , as it's reliable and sturdy. Halfords set it up but didn't tighten the bell or seat enough. Overall great bike and brilliant value for money!Date published: 2017-09-05Rated 4 out of 5 by Charley55 from Excellent value quality folding bike. I have not owned the bike long enough to vouch for the longevity of its components, but it looks great in my opinion and feels well made. I would say you could buy far worse for £250. I'm aware that Raleigh is now owned by a Dutch company who are keen to restore its name and reputation, and this appears to reflect in the value and quality of this bike. Just some negatives unfortunately around Halfords "bike technicians" preparation of the bike, which I found to be rather indifferent on getting the bike home. The handle bars and front wheel alignment was out significantly, I had to correct this myself. Loose screws on the front brakes adjustment mechanism to the point of nearly falling out. Incorrectly set brake blocks, resulting in squealing noise. Clicking when engaging top gear from improperly adjusted derrailer gear. I would expect all these points to be easily sorted by a good bike mechanic.Date published: 2017-05-29Rated 2 out of 5 by shax from Disappointed in the buy Purchased this product in October 2016 and since then ive had bad experiance sometimes I feel why I didn't buy an expensive bike such as Brompton. I have taken it to Halford with in 2 months of purchase becouse the foot paddle snapped which they fixed under warranty then on another day as I was cycling the paddle came off luckey I did not have an accident again Halford put that back on. the expence and experience goes on and on the back sparks snapped took it to bike shop had it repared a few time due to that the shop recomemded as its happend 3 times already next time change the whole wheel as its cheaper to change wheel £40 than change sparks which cost £15 plus spark price. This bike is a costy bike dont buyDate published: 2017-04-28Rated 1 out of 5 by Sidney9786 from High maintenance Purchased this bike about six months ago. Two weeks passed the pedals broke along with the bottom bracket. Halfords replaced faulty parts under warranty no problem.Constant trouble with the seat post clamp needs tightening post for ever slipping down. have purchased second seat post clamp to stop this so now Ihave two clamps lol. Now I am what you call a fair weather cyclist so any hint of inclement weather I stay indoors. The bike is stored in shed undercover so you can understand my disappointment at the screws and nuts that have started to corode. The bike is very poor in construction and needs constant adjusting and servicing .Date published: 2017-04-05Rated 5 out of 5 by Gillyfeather from Convenient excersise Love this bike which folds up nicely to fit in small car boot. Would not like to carry onto train or other public transport as quite heavy for me but then again like the sturdiness. Smooth gear change. Happy with this purchase.Date published: 2017-04-02Rated 4 out of 5 by Pudsey1981 from Evo 2 folding bike When I initially seen the vine it was listed at £230, however they increased the price to £250 the day I ordered, and would. It honour the previous price. The bike is small and simple to fold. Really is a lovely ride. The bike was built in the shop. When I got home I realised they had not put any reflectors of the mounts, and the bungs were missing on the bike rack. In short- the bike is excellent, but not very good customer service.Date published: 2017-02-18Rated 5 out of 5 by Bazarre from Excellent value I carried out a lot of research before buying a folding bike. The Raleigh Evo-2 was my choice from the point of view of weight, build quality and price. A lot of other makes/models in this price range are heavier and not so well engineered. Been used a few times now and I am not disappointed. OK, if you commute and need a very lightweight bike that folds up very small, then this might not be for you, but for my purposes -- putting it in the car boot to use for exercise riding -- it's the best that I found.Date published: 2017-01-16Rated 4 out of 5 by threespine from Happy with the bike Got this back in the summer when there was an offer on and for what I paid, I'm very happy. The bike works well on the cycle paths in the relatively flat town where I live, and it's needed no more maintenance thus far than a small adjustment to the derailleur. Getting it up and down the stairs to my flat is a doddle, but it's probably a bit too heavy I would think for lugging on and off a train regularly. On the other hand I'm just a pen pusher with underdeveloped muscles so some may not find it an issue ;-) One thing of note is the exceptionally comfortable ride, due to a natural riding position and a substantial seat. Finally, a piece of advice I'd give is to perhaps consider getting the bike delivered to your home rather than a store - it took me three attempts over as many days before I finally had my hands on the bike due to my local store being persistently understaffed.Date published: 2016-12-01
