Boardman Hybrid Team Bike 2016 is rated out of 5 by 39.Rated 4 out of 5 by Darkknight16 from Fantastic bike for commute and leisure ride. A fantastic piece of machine! Ideal for commute or weekend leisure ride. The brakes are smooth to operate and the gear system is unbelievable, especially the lever operation. Overall, a comfortable bike to ride.Date published: 2017-04-16Rated 5 out of 5 by cazz22 from fantastic for the money Light, fast, and I feel like I bought a grands worth of bike for £500. Finally a proper flat bar road bike, just a shame I had to buy a man's one as they dont offer a women's one this good.Date published: 2017-04-13Rated 5 out of 5 by Jonno1970 from Great bike Bought this to replace a trek 1.5 bike which was a similar spec road bike...Tiagra groupset, carbon fork etc Did a lot of research and started at the usual brands of Trek,Giant etc but found for this spec of bike they were almost double the price for no obvious reason My research proved that the Boardman bikes offer excellent value for money, similar spec as the equivalent "branded" bikes but for a lot less money I paid £450 including vectis card discount which really is difficult to see how i could have got better elsewhere The bike itself is very impressive... Lightweight, nice colours and mostly branded parts including Tiagra groupset and shifters, shimano disc brakes, carbon fork and Mavic wheels and Vittoria tyres Genuinely couldn't find fault with this bike except for one exception....The pedals are rubbish but if there was one thing i had to change to make this bike excellent it's them which isn't a big deal Very happy with it and glad i looked at a so called less desirable branded bike as VFM wise it's hard to beatDate published: 2017-03-21Rated 5 out of 5 by ILash from Excellent value You get a lot for the price - hydraulic disk brakes, carbon forks, good wheels. I found it very easy to fit mudguards (by SKS). I put the bike together myself (rather than Halfords doing it) and it was very straightforward. I have actually converted it to an electric bike. The lightweight aluminium frame and good components made this an ideal conversion. I am very pleased with it.Date published: 2017-03-11Rated 5 out of 5 by Thebigjock from Great value, quality bike. Upgraded to this from Carrera Subway which in itself is a decent bike but this feels like a giant leap in quality and performance. Well worth the extra money over some cheaper bikes if you can afford it. I bought it direct from Boardman (Which I believe Halfords now own) and it was delivered within 5 days fully built and ready to go. All you have to do is attach the pedals and straighten the bars, perfect for an amateur like me.Date published: 2017-03-08Rated 4 out of 5 by jfpkiroisxz from This product has great features .......apart from good paint finish kit flakes off around water bottle/ rack mounts-fact any sharp edge ,terrible pedals ! ?oddly mismatched saddle/seat colour , do like ISO standard quality assurances, I think that standard is a good idea !Date published: 2017-02-28Rated 4 out of 5 by Beatmeister1954 from Light and fast - but needs some QA I've Boardman road and mountain bikes, but this is my first hybrid and I'm very impressed. Firstly, the bike looks good...very good. This is one handsome bike. The colour (metallic black) should be easy to touch up if necessary. The spec is excellent for £550 and I was surprised (and pleased) to find a sealed rear cartridge bearing. I'm a Shimano hydraulic brake fan and these feel as good as the Deore 615s I've fitted to my MTB. The shift quality of the Tiagra gears is also excellent. The biggest revelation is the carbon fibre fork. On my Boardman road bike (alloy fork) riding the pockmarked streets of Southampton is a bone jarring experience. On the hybrid, if not exactly magic carpet, the ride becomes quite acceptable. This means that it's much more relaxing, not having to anticipate every imperfection. The bike maintains it's line, and the brakes of course inspire great confidence. The fact that this thing's as light as my road bike means that, in practical terms, it's a far better all rounder. I've fitted some magnesium flattie pedals from Decathlon, a Charge Spoon saddle (my standard saddle) together with some Zefal slimline mudguards Build quality, though, is rubbish. I deliberately bought mine in the box, not trusting Halfords technicians to set it up properly (my road bike came with free loose spokes that hadn't been detected!). My experience of Halfords' staff's ability to properly fix bikes is, er, inconsistent. I needed to spend an hour sorting the front mech properly (which involved fitting a new cable because only about 2cm protruded from the one originally fitted) and working to stop the pads rubbing the brake disks. So, the bike's worth 6 starts, the build quality about twoDate published: 2017-01-30Rated 4 out of 5 by probcop from A light well equipped urban bike Took long enough to decide to buy it to add to 12 yr old dawes galaxy and brompton. I decided that it was time for a much lighter bike to use locally with super brakes and good gears. Bought some mudguards from halfords as well and the excellent lads at the York branch put them on for free. So far so good , it rides well with good gear changes and no downside apart from it being an attractive target for the bike thieves.Date published: 2016-12-08
