Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 122 reviewers.Rated 4 out of 5 by CrankyTrev 6000 mile review No. No typo. 6000 miles. I use this bike for commuting. It's had to deal with the state of the roads, speed bumps, XC courses (that was a laugh) and it's survived. However, I've replaced: Back hub 3x before swapping the entire wheel. Bottom bracket (needs a second one soon) All cables Chain Steerer bearings. I've also swapped the grips for normal tube ones It's now on thinner road tyres too, stock tyres were ok but wore out and weren't very puncture resistant. They were also heavy and I didn't have confidence in them in the wet. All in all, I'm impressed with what I got for my money, I'm impressed with what it is now, but I'm not impressed with how much I've spent on repairs and upgrades. If you're wondering about speed, with the original gears I had it up to 32mph on the flat before I gave in and I've got some Strava KOMs with it. 06 September 2016Rated 4 out of 5 by HuggyMH mixed emotions i purchased this bike to do the C2C last weekend, it handled quite well , especially with my 17st + luggage on it. Only downside for me was that the brakes were completely worn out halfway through the 2nd day. and no brakes on the C2C is a little worrying. I understand it had a lot of weight to handle , but 70miles , (not all on the brakes ,as the first days are mostly flat and uphill) , isnt what i expected. i bought a 2nd hand bike 10 years ago and brakes are still fine. Overall a great bike , but if you can upgrade the brakes , i would. 26 August 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by carl004 Good bike. Great for the money Using this bike for fitness and leisure. The good point are: Although the tires look too thin. They an this bike as a whole are very sturdy. They have been off road a bit with me and they can handle a bit of stick with my 110Kg frame. Bike is light. So hills are “easier”. Riding position is good. Gears are at a good ratio. And 99/100 change perfectly. Front suspension is excellent. You only ever ride into it if you’re form goes bad uphill. Bad points: Front tire has a wobble under braking. Which could be my fault. When changing up gears on the rear sprocket the selector needs handling with care. Its thumb operated so there is a tendency to over shoot and have to come back down. But this is a generic comment to this sort of gear changer. When changing into the lowest gear set (on the front sprocket) 3 times I have had the chain snag. Not an issue as all you need to do is back pedal half a rotation. But annoying can loses you momentum when setting off from lights. However – stunning bike for the money. My niggle are just that. Niggles and this bike is great value at £400(ish) 07 August 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Lennybike Cracking Bike I've only had this a couple of weeks and haven't had chance to put it through it's paces but it just looks and feels like a quality bike. 20 September 2016Rated 4 out of 5 by Nickname0071 Fair, review Bought the bike to cycle into work, 6 mile in total, fairly flat, cycle path and road. The bike is solid, I build it myself followed the instructions took an hour.Good gears, comfortable, it's only 3 weeks old so a fair review on this bike is not possible, so far so good. 06 September 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Justmyview Carrera Crossfire 1 Mens Hybrid Bike I am not an expert on bikes, but this really works for me! 06 September 2016Rated 1 out of 5 by Ryan2016 Good Bike, Poor Service Where do I start?! Firstly the bike is a good product, good price and nothing overly fancy, ideal for someone like myself starting out. However, I used the free build service, collected the bike, mile into first cycle and the pedal comes off!! Luckily there was no injury and thankfully I was not on the road. Managed to wedge the pedal in and get home but the thread has worn away. Long story short, the bike was picked up to have pedal replaced but I cannot seem to get through to the store on the phone to arrange bike to be dropped off. Overall as I say, my short experience with the bike was good but I have owned it now for two weeks and been out once. A bit frustrating to say the least!! 05 September 2016Rated 4 out of 5 by Stevebusdriver Great bike This is a great bike if you just want a road type bike , but dire service from halfords , just don't want to go back for " free " check !! Already took it to some one else for a check over , they can't belive how rubbish I've been served and how many adjustments they have made to suit me !! Pick your shop with care !!!
