Boardman Mountain Bike Pro 29er - 16", 18", 19", 20" Frames is rated out of 5 by 55.Rated 5 out of 5 by HamsterleyHarrier from Cracking bike, priced below equivalent rivals Apart from adding spds, this bike is a cracking piece of kit straight from the box. Rivals fall short of the quality parts on this unless paying a big premium. I compared others by trek, Scott and specialized as I had up to £1500 to pay. I couldn't find enough in any other brand to sway me - especially the incredibly low weight and top notch forks. I've been bombing round Hamsterley forest since buying it 3 weeks back and can't see my smile fading soon. I love it! They threw in a free helmet and spds too - thanks Halfords!Date published: 2018-02-05Rated 5 out of 5 by PeteTheMeat from Nice bike I've had the bike 10 days now and have been out most days in the rain and mud, which shows how enjoyable this bike is. It flies up steep hills and shoots down forest tracks. Getting in the right gear is a doddle as I can change from top to bottom gear in just two long pushes of the thumb. The saddle nearly killed me after the first 10 miles and I'm still toughening up the "sit bones". The black colour started wearing off the pedals after only 30 miles. The brake cable wore through the frame paint and down to the bare metal in only a few hours of use.Date published: 2018-01-29Rated 5 out of 5 by Maaaaark from Fantastic deal of Boardman Pro HT I took advantage of the 10% off deals on the Boardman range. The HT is fantastic value with the frame and fork definitely the showcase of the bike. Very pleased with bike, price and the staff at Crewe were spot on! My comments on the stem are only minor and easily remedied with a low cost stem upgrade!Date published: 2017-10-27Rated 5 out of 5 by MJLab from Boardman 29er Super smooth and great on open tracks and bridleways. Crisp shifts and progressive brakes. Forks are excellent and the Halfords team set them to the right pressure for my weight. I'm 6 foot tall and the large frame is the perfect size for both reach and step over. Bought in the sale and got an extra 10% off with British Cycling discount.Date published: 2017-10-06Rated 3 out of 5 by Foxynjr from 1 year in Further to my last review I have trouble recommending this bike as good as it is . I've had so many problems that I wont ever buy a Boardman again. Since getting the bike the crank came loose numerous times, last time it came loose and damage the frame which meant a new frame. I've had bottom bracket problems as well. New cassette at £80 plus loads of minor issues I've just had the forks rebuilt at nearly £100 and on my last ride in Derbyshire the free hub broke leaving me miles from anywhere with no drive. The headline components are good for the money but quality control and cheap bits like hubs have spoiled it for me. My advice would be to spend a bit more and get a better quality bike. I'm keeping it now ve spent a lot of time and money on it but Have bought a Whyte FS as wellDate published: 2017-09-24Rated 5 out of 5 by Woody36 from Good performance bike. Bought this bike at the Widnes store where it was put together by Neil with the finishing touches and some sound advice from Gareth. It's the first bike I've owned in a long time even though I'd often thought of treating myself to one. I'm going to have to whip myself into shape and get a sweat on so my thinking was, get a bike. Also I thought if I'm going to buy a bike at least get a decent one and after reading numerous reviews on different models I finally settled on the Boardman MTB Pro 29er 19" as my choice and after going out on it a few times I'm very pleased with this bike. It's a nice easy ride and I can feel the quality of it. Gear changes are very smooth as it picks up speed and the handling is as sound and solid as you'd expect from a bike at this price. There's miles and miles of towpaths and bike paths in this area and I can't wait to get stuck into them but I'll have to build up my strength first. I'm glad now that I've splashed out on this bike and I would recommend it. One thing I noticed straight away was the seat being a bit hard but I've read other reviews saying the same thing. Easy sorted. Other than that go and get one.Date published: 2017-08-23Rated 5 out of 5 by YorkySteve from Great purchase at a competitive price! Moving from a rigid frame hybrid to my first hard tail was going to be a challenge! My previous bikes have always been from recognised bike shops so buying from Halfords was a new experience. Spec of the Boardman MTB Pro is great for the money even more so compared to what you might have to pay for so called 'big name' bikes elsewhere. Rockshox Reba fork is really responsive and easy to adjust to suit riding style. Saddle is a bit harsh but easily replaced with my old one. First outing in 7Stanes in Newcastleton was as good as I'd hoped. Really pleased with the bike and service from Halfords Huddersfield.Date published: 2017-08-20Rated 5 out of 5 by AndyDen from Bought as a weekend trail bike I bought this for a bit of offroad fun with the family and find myself going out for rides just to be on this thing. It's seriously fast, easy to ride and has amazingly convenient gearing. None of this 27 speed, never in the right gear rubbish, just 11 well spaced gears. The stock pedals got swapped out before my first ride. Front brake is amazing but the back not so much, think I may have glazed pads. The seat is high quality but VERY sharp. The tyres are good on most terrains and it is amazingly light. Perfect all round trail bike. I have the 19" model as I am 6'2" but only have a 32" inside leg and the bike is a perfect size for me. I highly recommend you try this bike.Date published: 2017-08-18
