Carrera Abyss Junior Hybrid Bike 2016 - 24" is rated out of 5 by 36.Rated 5 out of 5 by dai3015 from Excellent light weight bike was looking for a light weight bike for my 8 year old, having looked at all the usual suspects but reluctantly realised that they were very expensive for the 2 or so years use they'd get when I came across the Carrera Abyss on sale. It's got rigid forks instead of weighty and ineffective suspension and comes in at under 11kg. Fitting a larger volume Mtb specific tyre at the front has softened the ride and made it a cracking bike. Well recommendedDate published: 2017-09-16Rated 5 out of 5 by Jools43 from Fantastic bike Bought this for my 6 year old son whose just coming off stabilisers. Fantastic and easy to ride. Being lightweight has made it very easy for him. Will last him a while too. Definitely worth considering for your young ridersDate published: 2017-08-23Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Carrera Abyss One of the good choice for an 8 year older boy. I bought it for my 7 year old son, he is struggling a bit to reach his legs on ground, but looks like its OK for him.Date published: 2017-08-20Rated 5 out of 5 by Bucho from Great value Fantastic value for money bike - comparable to more expensive brands. Low frame means ok for younger riders; light weight.Date published: 2017-06-17Rated 5 out of 5 by wymustaegivvadis from Looks Brilliant This is a present for my grandson's birthday on 9th July and can't wait to give him it. I did a great deal of research, covering all aspects such as appearance (very important for a child as they don't know about technical stuff)..... .....quality, specification and price. A big issue was weight as he isn't a very strong boy. Two that I looked at, that looked brilliant, were ridiculously heavy, being 60% heavier than this one. On balance, therefore, the decision was easy.Date published: 2017-06-08Rated 5 out of 5 by CarolineH from Great bike, good service It was a real pleasure to watch my son unwrap his bike, which looks fab and he loves it.Date published: 2017-01-29Rated 5 out of 5 by Krisb1 from Lightweight and ideal for younger riders My son loves this bike. It's lightweight and solid which means he enjoys normal everyday play but is also good for longer bike rides and the hills don't cause the bother a slightly cheaper steel frame bike would cause. My son is average 7 year old and the frame is perfect for him with a decent amount of room for growth. Well worth the money.Date published: 2016-12-14Rated 2 out of 5 by as3827 from Carrera bikes - can't raise handle bars! I bought two for my kids on the basis they were light and the seat post is really easy to raise, however I now discover you cannot raise the handle bars!! why would you not need to raise these at some point?? I would have recommended these but on the basis that we haven't had as much use out of them as we could have because there is not point putting seats up for the kids to then bend down to the handle bars I don't recommend these bikes! yours crossly mumDate published: 2016-11-16
