Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 34 reviewers.Rated 4 out of 5 by Aztek 13 Incline Alpha I bought this bike around 5 weeks ago (so haven't been back for the free service yet), loved the looks, took it out for a test ride and all was good. The bike is fast I can proper move on this thing and I'm no tour de france cyclist. I notice many people review complaining about the brake, though I was luckily to get the version that has the uprated Clarks Exo brakes over the Clarks M2, that were fitted on the earlier ones and these brakes are ferocious so I have no complaints here. The gearing on the other hand is rubbish, it started off OK with the gears changing nicely, though over these few weeks getting the gearing to change up and down at the click of the lever has got worse and worse, so now to get it to click down, it now can take 3 clicks to get it to change and when it does it drops down 3 cogs, this seriously unseats me on the bike and I then have to click up 2 to get in in the gear I want. I have tried to adjust them, though it seams to be a lazy selector, which could mean faulty selector spring or the cables snagging somewhere. The other issue is the paint as it has already chipped twice so it dosen't seam very durable, taking into concideration that this is an MTB! So if I was to use the bike for what it's been designed for and take it to a proper down hill gravel track/trail, I will most probably see a lot more paint come off it..! Hopefully they will be able to sort these issues out when the bikes serviced! 08 September 2016Rated 4 out of 5 by FasterthanB4 Won't break the bank, won't brake for anything. You get what you pay for, with this bike your not paying for the prestige of a brand name, instead all of the money is paying for a quality mtb. I want to keep this short so I'll make Three points. This bike is fast! Due to a snapped achillies I haven't done any exercise for 8 months. To celebrate my recovery I bought this bike. In my unfit state I rode the trails that I've been missing. I was taking in easy but when I got my Strava results I had loads of PB's! Maybe now I'll be able to keep up with my mates? Point Two, this bike is smooth. The gears just effortlessly change. The bike just rolls quietly along largely due to the air shocks and cable routing. Point Three. You knew this was coming, the brakes are rubbish! Having said that I don't plan on upgrading as this is just a cross country bike but if I change the brakes on my downhill bike, it's old brakes are going on the 13. I would say that this bike is worth £450 but I was lucky and bought it in a sale for £360. At that price it's an absolute bargain. Thanks Halfords! 28 August 2016Rated 4 out of 5 by Squireeees Only thing that lets it down are the brakes! I bought this bike as a replacement for my Specialized 650B Pitch. Wanted a similar spec, but slightly cheaper and this was coming in at £360 - on sale from £500, so already a bargain! Read some great reviews online, most giving in between 4-4.5 out of 5. Was a little reluctant with it being Halfords own brand, but the price, nice frame and the excellent air forks with 120mm travel swung it for me! And having taken it out for a few big rides (as well as to and from work every day), I can really vouch for it. I'm 6ft and went for a medium frame, as I like it small and nimble. Absolutely love riding it! The major downside is the brakes. All the reviews pointed this out, but I thought these guys were pros and they'll probably be fine for me. Wrong. They genuinely are poor and so underwhelming. The only thing that really let it down and I can't wait to replace them with some Shimano Deore M615's (roughly £80 for the set) Two other slight downsides are the poor grips and pedals, but I just upgraded them instantly. Overall, fantastic bike for the price. Forks alone are worth most of it, and the frame is lovely. Would highly recommend, plus the money you save on the bike you could put towards the upgrades. 20 August 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Paul17uk 13 Incline Alpha S WoW !!!! 2016 model 13 incline alpha S now with Clarks m2 hydraulic brakes instead of exo Skeletal. Upgrades over 2015 model includes - better - brake disc , chainset , bottom bracket , crank , brake levers , organic pads and handle bar grips . Basically all the problems with the old version . Much much better bike now which made me buy, m2 brakes are 100 times better than Clarks pervious effort ! And I must say this bike is amazing to ride and looks just as good too ! Love it !!!!!! 13 follow your instincts 01 July 2016Rated 4 out of 5 by Paultheone Amazing bike but pricey The new 2016 13 incline alpha s , with updated brakes and chainset over the 2015 model. Very happy with this bike but very pricey , it's like buying beats or an apple product , you love them but at the same time know they wernt worth what you paid. But I guess that's the world we live in now . 28 June 2016Rated 4 out of 5 by swingball73 Great bike, shameful breaks I liked this bike from the off, the spec on it is far better than bikes that cost far more. It has a great fork and quality frame with plenty of travel for the trails. My only complaint is the breaks!! Clarkes hydraulic are not the best ! I saw some reviews which said they fail and guess what 4 days in and my front lever went into the bar and oil leaked from the cylinder lucky for me I was on a flat not some where that needed more front break. Bike has now gone back and I wont see it for a week (NOT HAPPY). Another gripe is with the staff who supposedly built it for me, the gears were jumping of the cogs and the front mech was rubbing the largest chain ring, also the sticker over the bottom bracket which should be removed after torqueing was still there which made me question if this had been done? Hopefully the bike will be back in my hands soon. 21 June 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Jack2475 Really good bike I like this product because it's really good and well made but I will say this bike performs well off road and on road. It's all fab for the price. 22 May 2016Rated 4 out of 5 by Baker36 Alpha This bike is a great bike for it's price you cannot complain the build quality and looks are like the more expensive bikes on the market. The only down side are the brakes there not as good as Tektro which I had last so think I might upgrade to them, the Beta model would be the best choice but they only do it White no good for terrain..!! 18 May 2016
