Carrera Vulcan Mens Mountain Bike - 16", 18", 20" Frames is rated out of 5 by 64.Rated 5 out of 5 by Mac090909 from Fantastic! I purchased this bike based on its picture online. When I collected it it was even more aesthetically stunning in reality. The performance and comfort is a joy. Fantastic, economical machine. Love it!Date published: 2018-02-12Rated 5 out of 5 by bringbackthe80s from Great Value Purchased this bike for riding light trails with the kids which is well within the bikes capability. Yes the front fork could be of a better standard but if your riding within it's limit your riding experience in comfortable enough. I purchased whilst on sale recently, with membership and work discount scheme i was able to get this bike for only £240.Date published: 2018-02-09Rated 3 out of 5 by Adam5555 from Poor The fork is utter garbage and better forks are found elsewhere for only bit more money for example the voodoo bikes with air forks. The tyres are of a hard compound which are only really good for on road use. The rear cassette is made of butter and can be rounded out within a 3 months of offroading. However the hydraulic breaks are good but not worth the additional money so if you are going to buy this bike buy the spec below this as it's far cheaper and has all the same components apart from the breaks. Overall very dissapointed!Date published: 2018-01-14Rated 1 out of 5 by CBSD from Second Vulcan and it’s going back again Sadly for me this is the 3rd bike I’ve bought from Halfords in the past 6months, first Vulcan was taken back twice due to the brake pull handle breaking twice. My son picked another Carrera bike that sadly some toe rag stole from him. With his Xmas money he’s decided to purchase another Vulcan, I will take this back tomorrow due to the gears/chainset not set correctly, gears slipping or not selecting. I have spent far too much time travelling, parking and queuing to be positive about the Carrera bikes - I have experienced too many problems for a 350-400 bike. What happened to Raleigh, Dawes.... solid well built bikes and less moneyDate published: 2018-01-04Rated 2 out of 5 by Biker10120171234 from Not good off road whatsoever Despite on the website advertising this bike, videos of people riding aggressively and jumping, there is a sticker on the fork telling you not to do any riding other than mild XC (boring gravel roads). The fork is completely useless after about 6 months of use - it is not possible to use more than about 25% of the travel. The brakes have come apart twice despite replacing both front and rear the same problem occurred. Halfords upgraded me to a free SRAM level brake because it broke so many times - I don’t know why they even have the Clarks brakes in the first place. For almost £400 I expected much better. Wheels also became very buckled pretty much instantly.Date published: 2018-01-01Rated 5 out of 5 by Amgjudd from Amazing This bike is absolutely awesome! Although there are some cheap parts, they are easy to replace. Would recommendDate published: 2017-12-25Rated 5 out of 5 by Bikereveiw15 from Very good bike for riding on and of trails I got this bike a week ago and so far it is really good. It brakes well and quickly the gears shift soundlessly and quickly. The 27.5 wheels are fast and agile and grip really well to all surfaces. The bike looks really good and is nice to ride. The two problems I have had is that the front disk was rubbing but that was an easy fix and my lock hit the side ans chiped a small bit of paint off but it isn't very noticeable.Date published: 2017-12-02Rated 3 out of 5 by sticko75 from Seems a good bike but cheap parts???? Only had it a few weeks now but after the first week my son came off it, not too hard on landing but the brake lever snapped clean off !!!. I was very surprised at this as it was a light impact really compared to some in the past on his old bike, i expected that the lever might bend a bit but not snap in half. Makes me wonder if they are using cheaper parts on the bike despite charging nearly £400 for it !!. The bike itself has all the features you would expect really for the price. Overall i would say that it is a good bike but just be wary that you might need some spare break levers if you suffer the same fate.Date published: 2017-11-23
