Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.Rated 4 out of 5 by tombiker Great value bike I have ridden 1000Km on this since purchase. I weigh 65kg and predominantly ride in the hills. Frame: Internal routing and paint job look great. The aero profile really does make this bike look great. The frame is stiff (however I'm a light rider so don't notice flex on many bikes), the rear end especially seems to be stiff without being backbreaking if you hit a bump or hole. The frames come out a little on the small side however the bikes are fitted with a fairly long stem as standard so you should be able to get a fairly aggressive position if required. Front forks: The bike has carbon front forks and a carbon steerer tube. This makes the ride from the front pretty comfy even with the handlebars slammed. Drivetrain: The Shimano sora fitted as standard rides well. I've found that the rear derailleur does need adjusting fairly frequently to maintain good alignment. the front mech changes as smooth as anything I've ridden. The 9 speed cassette is brilliant on the hills as it has a 32T gear. I've found this very useful on hills in excess of 20% as I can spin where other riders are struggling grinding a bigger ratio. Brakes: The front brake is great and gives plenty of braking power. It could be improved with a quick release but otherwise is fine. The rear brake is under the bottom bracket and is a cantilever style brake. This was hard to set up in the first place and doesn't give as much braking power as a caliper brake. Also with the brake being under the bottom bracket it quite easily clogs up with grit. I have recently caught a stone in the brake pad which scratched the braking surface of the rear wheel before I had a chance to remove it. Seat-post and saddle: These weigh quite a lot and would be a good place to save some weight. the seat post doesn't appear to be very high quality however the saddle is surprisingly comfy and easy to adjust to find a comfortable riding position. Wheels: The wheels supplied look great in a matching colour scheme with the rest of the bike. The slightly deeper rim does sometimes catch crosswinds however this is common with almost all aero wheels. At high speed or when sprinting the wheels can feel a little unresponsive, perhaps this is due to a small amount of flexing going on.The wheels are fine for casual riding but I'd suggest this would be the first place to look to upgrade saving weight and gaining performance. Overall this is a very good bike for the price. Having Sora, a good aero frame and decent wheels (for the price) makes this a good pick for an upper entry level road bike. It feels fast and responsive to ride and does well on the hills as well as the flat. Places it could be improved: Upgrading wheels Upgrading seat-post and saddle Better rear brake. Next time please have the rear brake mounted in the conventional position and use a caliper brake. 15 June 2016Rated 3 out of 5 by Tank2ndrow Reliability I have had this bike for just over a year now, I'm now on my 3rd back wheel and 3rd bottom bracket. Yes I am a big rider and put lots of power down but my backup bike has had no such issues. I do ride more than some averaging 160-190 miles a week. (When the wife has the car) Maybe the parts could be upgraded? Still a good bike when I'm not having problems. 19 May 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by tonto998 great bike a good looker , admired by many on recent ride, excellent ride, and comfortable bike. love the features , aero brakes, frame shape and style, cable routing, good color detail on frame graphics, very pleased with purchase. will now also consider one of the mountain bikes as well 16 May 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Mitch22 Outstanding Bike I am well impressed with this bike, I was searching for a new Road bike and I happened to come across the 13 Intrinsic Beta Road Bike, and i'm so pleased I did, this is a great bike, the spec it great, internal wiring makes is a big plus for my as it really sets the bike off, i have upgraded my to Shimano 105 but the sora is an okay groupset, the only issue i have is the back brake was had to set up and removing the wheel is abit of a chew as there isn't a keep realise as per normal calipers. but overall the bike is excellent, you will struggle to get the same quality for less then £800. 11 May 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Maxie121 13 Intrinsic Beta Road Bike 2015 - 54cm I got this bike six weeks ago and have nearly 300km on it already. It handles like a dream and is greatly admired by other cyclists.I wanted to wait until I had a really good feel for the bike before writing a review - this is my first Road Bike and I have not been disappointed. The bike is really light and has been designed for speed and its 18 gears makes light work of the various hills that I have encountered to date. I have found the bike to be comfortable and I look forward to getting out and about on it. Overall I have found this to be a great product and it more than meets my needs. 29 July 2015Rated 5 out of 5 by Dan1987 13. Beta great bike! I purchased my 13 beta about a month ago and I am impressed, the quality and performance is amazing. I love the styling and the location of the brakes. I would recomend this bike to anyone who wants somthing difererent stylish and reliable. I am 6ft 2 and selected the 58 frame it's perfect for me. It is also very light for an ally framed bike. Great bike! 29 April 2015Rated 4 out of 5 by WeymouthCyclist 13 Intrinsic Beta Road Bike Firstly the bike is vey light, smooth gears and an excellent ride "experience". The gears are smooth and considering the price it is excellent value for money. The staff at Halfords Weymouth were extremely helpful in providing information and support about the bike. I would recommend this bike for someone who wants to attain a good level of fitness and cycle reasonably long distances. 08 January 2015Rated 4 out of 5 by Cezar Good value for the money So I've been riding this bike for almost 2 months now and it's also my first road bike. I've mainly chose the bike for commuting and training during winter through my cycle2work scheme and so far it hasn't let me down ! The bike overall it's quite light which is always a good thing on those hills, it's responsive, the handlebar position isn't that aggressive, good wheels, internal routing cables. This way I would like to thank Neil (hopefully I spelled it correctly) from the Catford branch for being a huge help sharing knowledge and advice as well as being so friendly ! Of course you will be able to get better specced bikes from other brands with better group set and all that malarkey, but I chose this one as it's something new and I would like to support Halfords for bringing so many people on riding bikes . Not saying that they make the best bikes but their initiative for bringing affordable bikes to all range of pockets is something which I appreciate and value ! 17 November 20141-8 of 8
