Boardman Road Team Carbon Bike - 51.5, 53, 55.5, 57.5cm Frames is rated out of 5 by 14.Rated 4 out of 5 by Ami88 from Perfect entry level carbon Did my first long ride yesterday on this bike and it's fair to say I am very pleased. It's my first carbon (had some seriously good alumns) and it is a world of a difference in terms of speed, stiffness and responsiveness. All of my Strava sectors were PBs. I'm disappointed with the semi tiagra set up. They could have at least equipped the full groupo. I've already upgraded the brakes to 105 and wheels to Fulcrum racing 5s, so can't comment on the original set up - I'm confident it is still a good ride just with sub par braking performance. The internal cabling is annoying and rattles a lot, going to have to soundproof this somehow. I'm pleased with the Halfords service after previously been put off by poor bike knowledge and set ups. The guys at the store I used were fantastic. At £1000 for a carbon frame + another £300/400, you'll have yourself a superb bike. I highly recommend the 105 5800 groupset, works like a dream...I'll be equipping that or ultegra on this when these parts come to end of their life! A very worthwhile purchase even if you keep it as stock! I'm 5'7 and the small frame is a good fit.Date published: 2018-04-22Rated 5 out of 5 by GottaGoFast from Excellent Bike Coming from a cheap bike this is a major step up and feels great value for money. Shifting is smooth, brakes are punchy, the bike is nice and light, and pedaling is fast and responsive. Can't really compare it to high end bikes but they can't be that much better, surely. Some compromises have been made to get a carbon frame, like tektro brakes, FSA crankset - Basically it's not full tiagra and that's the compromise. Saddle and seatpost are fairly weighty, as well. Wheels are entry range Mavics- Solid quality wheels but not the lightest or fastest. But this is just upgrade potential. It might be possible to cut a kilo off the bike with a few upgrades. We'll see. My only complaint is that there's a bit of rattling inside the frame from the internal routing. It's only noticeable when going over really bumpy bits though, over standard road it doesn't rattle. But I have so much fun riding this that it really doesn't bother me.Date published: 2018-04-21Rated 5 out of 5 by StuRideLondon from First Carbon Bike Bought this bike to replace a Giant OCR 2. The Sportive geometry really works, this bike is so comfortable. I've always wanted a carbon bike and although this doesn't have a top end groupset the tiagra setup is good. Flies up hills and is a joy to ride. Really good value for money and feels like a quality bikeDate published: 2018-04-18Rated 5 out of 5 by Bluejim2 from An absolute pleasure to ride I bought this bike in September and the quality and performance exceeded all expectations. It is very light and fast and at first the power that can be achieved with only a limited amount of effort is overwhelming. Before this I was only riding a boardman MTB, which is very quick, but the speed and pace I can achieve is nothing compared to this amazing road bike. I can commute to the city in half the time and it is absolute pleasure to ride. The journey is smooth, with quick and efficient gear changes with the 2 sets of gears. I upgraded the tyres to Continental gator skin but everything else is perfect and is an amazing bargain for the price. The only negative aspect is the pedals, which are difficult to get used to and would have preferred normal pedals which are flat and easy to use on both sides without the top clips. The higher gears when you can get into them is sometimes scary how much speed you can achieve and the lower gears were perfect for going up very steep hills. I love this bike and would highly recommend this for high performance leisure riding, which gives a smooth fast and truely pleasureable ride.Date published: 2018-02-11Rated 5 out of 5 by Alanchip from Boardman bikes Got this bike for my wife she has two other boardman ladies bikes one being a carbon but on this team carbon she can keep up with me with no effort and no trouble with hills I used it for the first time yesterday 30 miles no trouble gears are smoth and it was a good ride i think it was as good as my boardman pro carbonDate published: 2017-11-25Rated 4 out of 5 by Stanley35 from Boardman Team Carbon 55.5cm Well first ride today, 71 miles. Installed some zefal E30 mudguards, work well. Great ride like the Comp I had heard ago. Very impressed for the money. Staff at Crewe branch were fantastic especially Mick and Chris. Would recommend this bike. I have it as a winter ride but would compete with my cannondale super six Evo.Date published: 2017-11-19Rated 5 out of 5 by almostahappycustomer from Great bike Really amazing bicycle, very light and fast. I've had no problems with it apart from the front derailleur grinding all the time when in highest 10 gears. And front mech was a bit damaged.Date published: 2017-11-06Rated 5 out of 5 by Ken45 from Boardman Team Carbon Great first carbon bike. Good stiff but comfortable ride.Date published: 2017-10-20
