Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Road bike! This is my first road bike so can't compare my experience in terms of road bikes, but moving to this from a mountain, hybrid commuter and even a folding bike, I can't believe how quickly and easily I can get to my destinations now. The gearing all seems perfect now that I've done a fair 100 miles on flats, uphill, downhill, 13% gradient uphill.. All with ease - I think it's due to the superb gearing ratios and light weight. The brakes have been great for me so far. I actually rode it back from the store when it was raining cats and dogs - I was impressed even then with the braking performance. One gripe were the pedal straps - which take some time getting used to - however most people I've read change these. I've made do and am now comfortable with unloading and loading my trainer into the strap each time I need to stop (roundabouts, traffic lights etc). It does take time getting used to mind you. The only other problem for me is the seat - I'm not used to the narrow streamlined designed yet and feel a bit sore if I cycle for in excess of 1 hour flat out. I am going to buy one of those seat cushions to see if that helps. For the price brand new, I don't think you can match this. Even better if you get it built by the Halfords team who did a splendid job. I purchased the bike with a water bottle cage - I would recommend that you buy mudguards if you want to cycle in the rain. Final thoughts is that I had the money for a more expensive bike, but wasn't sure since I never had a road bike. But after visiting my local Halfords store and talking to the cycling team (and viewing the bike), I was confident this would be perfect for me and it was. I would highly recommend this road bike to new or old users of road bikes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Bike This bike really does what it says on the tin, it’s light weight, a great colour too. Only negative is the seat is slightly uncomfortable so anything more than 7 miles on the bike and your bum starts to hurt other than that I’m really pleased with my purchase and would recommend this bike. Also thank you to the staff at Biggleswade who build the bike and were very professional and a credit to the company.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Built to a budget. I wanted to make this bike more of a tourer, than a racer. The first things I did was change the pedals and get my riding position something like . I took it out for a 25 mile ride. Boy, was I pleased, I had considered buying a Carrera. I have not owned this bike a week yet. I have now fitted mudguards, new seat, side stand and a new Carradice Barley saddlebag. So,for less than £500 I have a fully set-up light touring bike, that I can ride all day. As others have said, it is light and fast. The gearing is very good, on this bike and gives me all I could need.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent road bike Being new to cycling this In my opinion is an excellent introduction bike. Light weight and we'll assembled I have already done over 150 km in a week with no issues at all. Totally recommend this to anyone who wants a quality bike without paying a hefty price tag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value bike. Overall I'm very happy with this bike. It's really light, fast and rides well. I added mudguards and changed the saddle and pedals to suit myself but the ones that came with it are adequate. It took me a couple of minutes to figure out how to change gear, (D'oh!), but once I had I really like the setup. If you have small hands, as I do, check that the you can operate the brake levers safely before buying. They are adjustable but even so I find them a bit of a stretch. The handlebar end plugs are rubbish and fell out on my first ride, so I replaced them with screw in models from Amazon, £1.45 a pair. I've had quite a few punctures in the few months I've owned the bike, so will be changing the tyres in the near future. On the other hand, the quick release wheels make changing or repairing an inner tube a doddle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value for money. I bought this as a quick and cheap way of keeping my cycling fitness up as normally I ride mountain bikes. Understand that this bike is made down to a price and you can clearly see that in the components BUT don't worry about that! When the parts wear out (as ALL parts do) then just replace them with upgraded ones. I have Shimano XTR gears on my mountain bike. On this road bike, I think they are Shimano Tourney. Yes - there is a slight difference but not that much that you'll stay awake at night. Don't let the bike snobs fool you. This is a great value for money bike. I had the shop fit Halfords mudguards front and rear. I think they were a tenner. I replaced the pedals for SPD ones because I have cleated bike shoes which I road ride in. The crankshaft big cog seems to be fairly cheap so once that wears out, I will fit a better one. I havent used the inner cog yet. The main cog needs an extra tooth as you will spin out at about 30mph. The seat is pretty good I find. Bars and shifters are all good. I've done 250 trouble free kilometres on it so far.
