Women's Cycling, Review: '"If anyone knows what a woman needs from a bike, then Victoria Pendleton does. It's a smart looking bike. The finish is excellent and I liked the strong blue colour, with the addition of rainbow bands around the forks and seat-tube to celebrate the designer's incredible achievements in the sport." says tester Janet Birkmyre.'

ReviewsPendleton Initial Road Bike 18 18Nice looks and build quality This was bought as a Christmas gift for one of my daughters and so has not yet been ridden. However, initial impressions are positive from me and the sister that helped pick it up. Nice looking bike with a sporty female friendly design. Feels light, but solid. If it performs as well as it looks then it will be a great success! 13 December 2014Great First Road Bike Bought this for my daughter as her first road bike as she wants to come out with me. its a great entry level bike with some great features. gearing on this bike for this price is brilliant and the frame is very light to. 11 December 2014Great value for money This is the first road bike i've had - it rides really nicely and is pretty light and fast. It's a good bargain for those who are new to road bikes - all others I saw were much more expensive. All in all, I love my new bike and would definitely recommend it! 09 December 2014Novice rider I'm a novice rider and this a great bike at a great price to get started at. Here's to many miles on it! 02 December 2014Would only use on an indoor trainer If you want to ride on the road ladies, spend more money and buy a bike that doesn't weigh a ton. This is great for an indoor trainer but I wouldn't recommend for the road. Great value 29 November 2014Great first road bike This is my first road bike, after getting annoyed with my old, heavy foldie and it's great. Friends had mentioned that 16 gears seems a bit low, but I've had no problems so far. It's fast, hasn't broken yet (despite a few potholes I've been forced into by taxis) and fun to ride. The gear shifts are fairly smooth and shifters responsive and it's light enough that I can carry it up the stairs. The only thing I would say is that even though it's a ladies bike, it still seems to assume you have man sized hands to work the brakes from the hoods (ie on top of the handlebar). Even after getting the handlebars adjusted slightly so I can get some purchase on the brakes (which Halfords were great about) I still keep getting cramp in my hands. If you've got small hands like me you might want to check before buying, as different brands of shifters do different sized hoods. 23 November 2014fab for the money Great bike for the money. I don't have much to compare it to hence the performance rating but it feels way faster than my hybrid that had 650 wheels. The set up of gears is good. You'll power along the flats and blast up the hills. Very happy purchase! 24 October 2014Perfection at a bargain price. I bought this for my wife whose cycling style and performance had outgrown the second hand Dawes single speed she'd been riding for the past two years. Anne has Asperger's syndrome which means that comfort and familiarity are very important. I was envisaging a long trawl around shops to find the ideal bike at a price we could afford. I was delighted to find a specific women's frame at such an accessible shop. We tried it, tweaked the seat height and angle and off she went. She's already done over 50 miles and it's only five days old. Lovely finish too. As she was unused to indexed gears we had a couple of teething problems which were sorted out in-store as we waited. The very kind mechanic also fitted a computer and bottle rack. We've already booked the Norwich 100 in 2015! 24 October 2014
