ReviewsBikeHut Alloy In-Line Suspension Seat Post - 27.2mm 28.6mm 9 9great this does the job ,easy too install three spring strengths to choose from and they are inclusive, not like other more expensive posts, where u pay extra for different springs..very good. 23 August 2012Cheap(ish) and cheerful seat post It's basically a metal (doesn't feel particularly light) tube with a sprung piston, with an interchangeable spring (3 different sizes supplied) to suit the weight of the rider. Easy enough to fit and seems to do its job quite nicely. Nice touch is the included shim to make it fit a larger tube size on the frame. Bit of a fiddle - the trick it to fit the saddle first, then put it on the bike. 07 November 2011Not effective. While building a trekking bike to replace my dual-suspension one, I decided to retain a bit of the comfort I was used to by adding a suspension seatpost. I fitted the correct spring in accordance with the instructions, but the ride did not seem comfortable at all. Also the bolts holding the seat kept coming loose, no matter how hard I tightened them. In the end I had to use lock nuts. After a few months I decided to replace the post for one with some layback (as I have long legs), and bought one made out of the same alloy but without suspension. I was surprised to find the ride quality was noticeably superior, even though it had no moving parts. If you are really going for all-out comfort, buy a dual-suspension bike. 11 October 2011Should have bought this months ago! I bought a hybrid bike a few months ago and have spent the summer cycling to get fit. I found I was spending most of my time on cycle tracks and canal towpaths and my bike was vibrating badly over the rough tracks - so much so it was giving me headaches. I was going to look into buying a more suitable bike for the cycling I do when I came across their item in my local store. Fitted it one Sunday morning, chose the largest spring which matched my weight and went out on a ride. My goodness, i couldn't believe the difference! Before I was shaken to pieces and had to choose my path carefully to avoid the worst of the uneven ground, now I ride without watching the surface to choose the best bit. The ride is smooth and so much more enjoyable - there is still some vibration through the handlebars, obviously, but it is just so much better. SO much difference from such a cheap item. It looks well-made too and is very adjustable for different weights. Easy to fit too. Highly recommended! 03 October 2011Just the ticket With all the potholes in our roads this really does take the edge off them. 02 October 2011one of the best seat post around I have never bought from halfords before so i was unsure at first, but once i got it i was very pleased, it has three springs to choose from to suit your weight which are very easy to change and the look and feel do show real quailty. I have been using it for about two weeks on and off road and it does take out the bumps 27 July 2010Outstanding Value Suspension Seat Post smooths out the bumpy roads and tracks on my mountain bike. 05 July 2010Seat Post Suspension This is an ideal item to by if you are into leisure cycling. It is fairly simple to assemble and set up, once you have decided on the correct spring to use for your weight measurement. The single sheet instruction manual is easy to understand. In use, this device gave a relatively smooth ride on road surfaces. But heavly bumpy roads did give some reflection back into the saddle. Overall, I woulld recommend this to anyone that does not have a full suspension MTB. 01 November 2009
