Elite Novo Smart Turbo Trainer is rated out of 5 by 19.Rated 5 out of 5 by Sticky46 from Great for use with online training programs. My first trainer developed a fault within a day, where the resistance wouldn't self adjust. I returned it and it was replaced with no quibble, Elite were good when I contacted them reference this as well. SO, the second trainer was set up and run through some self testing and worked flawlessly. Once I knew it was ok, I attempted to pair it with zwift via Bluetooth on my laptop and it just wouldn't have it. I purchased an ant+ dongle and pairing was successful. Once setup I did a 4 mile test run on zwift and the trainer gave very good response to hills and was pretty accurate with power, speed, cadence etc. It's quiet enough not to annoy and the resistance range is perfect for me. Bought whilst on sale at £180 but I would be happy if I'd paid the full price having now tried it out. I have no doubts this trainer will see me right on days I can't get out riding for real.Date published: 2018-05-09Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Better than expected Despite seeing the odd poor review of this item I still bought it, most reviews are good. I bought it because of the two-way Bluetooth so the phone app that comes with the trainer can automatically change the trainer by the program you set on your phone. These types of trainers are normally £100-200 more, so definitely worth the money. People have reviewed that it’s a faff to set up, it’s not that difficult, also many have advised that you have to take the wheel off your bike to set up and this isn’t true. The only little thing is you remove your quick release bolt from your back wheel and change it for a plain one so it fits easily and doesn’t damage bike or trainer. I like the app and will continue with it. I used my British Cycling membership card too which gave me a further 10% offDate published: 2018-04-16Rated 4 out of 5 by Cyclist456 from Best value turbo trainer out there This turbo trainer is approximately £100 cheaper than it's nearest competitor and it works very well. "Free wheeling" is good given the comparatively small flywheel weight and the resistance levels are certainly high enough to make your legs work hard. I had some teething problems with the Bluetooth controlling the resistance properly but they have corrected themselves after a few uses.Date published: 2018-03-15Rated 5 out of 5 by Brookebiker from Clever technology at a great price I’m using this turbo trainer with Zwift but it’s compatible with other apps. It came with a years subscription to another app but I didn’t get on with that one. Finally turbo training indoors has some reality and interest to it! A bit fiddly to put together but once done it’s very easy to remove the bike and put another in. It doesn’t come with a front wheel riser which is a little annoying but cheap to rectify. It’s also quite noisy compared to my old fluid trainer.... as are most magnetic style trainers when riding at speed.Date published: 2018-03-06Rated 5 out of 5 by Lowey11 from Elite Novo Smart Turbo Trainer Purchased to replace my existing ‘dumb’ Elite turbo trainer and wanted something to use with Zwift. Only completed 4 virtual rides so far and everything has worked seemlessly. Only additional item I needed to purchase was an ANT+ dongle for my aging laptop to connect up the speed/Cadence/HRM. The Zwift software connects up to trainer and sensors in seconds and it’s ready to ride. On free rides the resistance on the trainer adjusts to simulate the gradients and in ERG mode adjusts resistance to maintain a set power output when following a workout. Purchased whilst on sale and with British Cycling Membership discount made this too good not to take a punt on. Obviously at the cheap end of the smart trainer market, but has exceeded my expectations and has given my time in the ‘pain cave’ a renewed enthusiasm.Date published: 2018-03-03Rated 5 out of 5 by DeePeeMRBC from Very Impressed So much trainer for so little money. Easy enough to set up with Zwift. Clearly robust. Data seems believable though possibly a touch optimistic - I have no way to check. 125km so far. There will be FAR more.Date published: 2018-02-24Rated 5 out of 5 by MattStretch from Great value for money Works fine with Zwift and is great quality for the price. Use with an ANT+ dongle and 2m cable to put the sensor next to the trainer, and no problems whatsoever. Very pleasedDate published: 2018-02-20Rated 5 out of 5 by dave33333 from good smart trainer Elite make decent trainers. The discount on this made it a very good purchase. The trainer is good connection easy and resistance quite good. Real video is pretty good and free for a year. There is enough to keep your winter training interesting.Date published: 2018-02-08
