  • Elite Turbo Muin Smart Turbo Trainer

The Elite Turbo Muin Smart Turbo Trainer is a direct transmission home trainer with integrated fluid resistance and one-way smart technology. The perfect combination of realistic feel, interactivity with your favourite training apps and high power to motivate you to push your training to the next level.
Direct Drive - Remove your rear wheel & connect your bike directly to the trainer. Direct drive provides the most realistic experience by transmitting drive directly from the chain to the trainer. This also makes the trainer quieter than a conventional "wheel on" trainer. Turbo Muin Smart B+ includes a freehub compatible with Shimano 9/10/11 speed casettes (& other brands using the Shimano standard).

Shimano cassette required (or other brands that use the Shimano standard). Click here to see Halfords range of cassettes

Fluid Resistance - The 6kg internal flywheel spins in silicone oil providing a wide range of self adjusting resistance levels that gradually increase with speed, simulating the air resistance experienced on the road. Use higher gears for power based training up to 2,700 watts at 60km/h and lower gears for base level and rpm training. Fluid resistance is also incredibly smooth & quiet.
One way smart tech -  Modern training apps such as Zwift have revolutionised turbo training by making it an interactive experience. The Turbo Muin Smart B+ has an integrated Elite Misuro B+ sensor to provide wireless connectivity to your favourite apps via ANT+ & Bluetooth. Speed, cadence and estimated power data are transmitted making it easier than ever to monitor your performance and stay motivated through the winter months. PLUS - The Turbo Muin Smart B+ includes a 12 month subscription to the Elite My E-Training App,

  • Elite Turbo Muin Smart Turbo Trainer is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very quiet and easy to use - not cheap but cheaper than other direct drive trainers I was originally looking at smart trainers which adjust resistance automatically and use the rear tyre to be connected but I learnt that they are very noisy and also require a special tyre. The Turbo Muin was bought as Halfords said it was on special (no idea if it was or just marketing) but I have been impressed. Doesnt come with a rear cassette but is relatively easy to put together and to use. My phone connected to the Bluetooth transmitter without issues after downloading the Elite App (using android) and I've used the trainer with out issues about 6 times. Things I like - no electrical power is required so you can use it any where, very quiet so you can watch tv/videos with out the need for headphones, very steady when bike is connected. Dont like - need to buy a skewer and cassette so additional cost.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Early days - initial thoughts Only collected this yesterday. My first smart trainer, and bought specifically for Zwift. I had the store fit my Shimano 105 10 Speed Cassette - it didn't seem straightforward if you haven't done this before, and you need special tools - so actually cheaper if you don't want to buy the tools. Very easy and fast to build, and get your bike fitted. You need to use the skewer from your current bike wheel, as an extra one is not included in the box - so a second skewer might be helpful. I linked the trainer to an iPad (iOS) version of Zwift. The device hooked up (power and cadence/Speed) without any issue using Bluetooth (not sure why other report issues. I have a very recent iPad with latest iOS - maybe that helped). The sensor was fitted and ready to go. The sensor auto starts and stops when you pedal/stop pedalling. A quick 30 minute ride and can confirm the unit is very, very quiet. The main learning so far (I am a Zwift newbie) is that this trainer does not increase resistance based on the incline you are travelling on in the virtual world of Zwift. It works on the principle that the faster you make the rear drive spin, the more effort is needed (i.e. watts/effort). As I mentioned, there isn't any direct correlation between incline in Zwift and resistance. So the riding experience converts the effort you put in to your speed on Zwift. So if you keep pedalling at a steady effort/watt (e.g. 60 cadence, in 5th gear) - you will be very slow up hills, steady on the flat and zoom down the hills - if that makes sense? You will not feel extra resistance when you hit an incline, or get less when you come back down the hill - but your virtual speed will change dramatically. Its a different experience than I expected - but makes sense when you get your head around the logic.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from First Week - Working Smoothly Early days. Perhaps 100km of the Turbo's own distance measurement. Relatively straight forward to set up. Legs longs on the chain side. Have cassette and chainwhip ready. spacer on outside of dropouts for road bikes, inside for MTB. Probably useful if you have a spare QR skew that you just use for this. Not sure how accurate the power output is but it seems consistent to each ride anyway. The cadence measure is pretty close to the cadence measure coming from my crank magnet. I'd be disappointed if I was only going the speed this machine outputs on the road for the same effort, but it is consistent in each use so far so good as a relative measure. As it is heavy, I'm finding altering feet height fiddly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy set up Once you have got the cassette on (buy this separately) this is a quick and easy set up. The manual is pretty straight forward. The bluetooth sensor links with the Zwift app straight away. Very good resistance and stability.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fly like the wind Really happy with the purchase of my first turbo trainer. The set up was really easy, bike fixed too it and was away. I need to reset me derailleurs though, as not all of the gears were accessible, however this is due to lack of maintenance on my part more than the equipment. The added connectivity is a great bonus as other distributors charge up to £55 for the little box. The trainer is very steady when climbing out of the saddle, although I prefer to push more on the pedals than waste energy getting out of the saddle. I am still trying to access the free year of training tho........ The connection to my Garmin VAHr is a little out!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Elite muon smart b Great trainer for the money. Stable, quiet and realistic resistance. My power output recorded is similar to the output I have recorded on my mates wahoo KiKR and watt bikes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Product unreliable If you want a turbo trainer where you don’t use a rear wheel it’s fine. As for the ant/Bluetooth feature i had to get a ant plus dongle before it would work, and I find it unreliable as the signal keeps dropping out. If you have the money go for something more upmarket
