ReviewsUrban Escape Atago 5 Man Tent 7 7Great Value Alternative to the Brands We went to watch the Olympics, and needed a 5 person tent that would be comfortable for a week's camping - this tent was absolutely perfect! The 2 back bedrooms have a divider in the middle, so I was realxed in the knowledge that the kids were just next door. the living space at the front was big enough for the picnic table, chairs, coolbox, storage unit (all themselves bought on great deals from Halfords!), and there were useful storage spaces for shoes etc too. Best of all, the ground sheet was fully sewn in so there was no chance of any rain or bugs geting inside the tent. The material was thick so the waterproofing rating was fine, no chnage of leaking etc. We priced up an equivalent spec from one of the brands (go outdoors i think) and this tenat was miles cheaper so overall offered greta value for money which we will use for many more camping trips to come! 11 September 2012great tent loved this tent used in wicklow ireland for the first time the other weekend and it was great it rained for about 12 hours the first day and had 2 inchs of water outside my tent but still keep out the water with its sewn in ground sheet there were 2 adults and 3 kids and there was lots of room for chairs table inside and plenty of room for airbeds. as for it flapping at the back in wind i think the other users review missed that there were 2 pegs at the back under the ground sheet that he missed to peg down, geat tent, lots of space 27 August 2012Noisy Nice big tent but I have to question its deisgn. The poles go straight over with no crossing and the guide ropes are high up. It was windy where we were staying and this causes the whole tent to flap because there are large areas which are not held firmly in place by poles for guide ropes. It was worse at the back near the ground (right by my head at night) and the flapping noise kept us awake most of the night even with ear plugs. Others said their tent leaked. We had rain but it didn't leak however there were patches that appeared to have absorbed the rain. Apart from these it was a very good tent. Were were unfortunate when taking the tent down - a gust of wind caught it and snapped 3 of the poles. 16 August 2012GREAT BUY! We bought this for our first time camping as a family, and it was well worth the money! We camped for a week and had all kinds of weather from hot sun to wet days and nights and thick fog, it was even pretty windy when we arrived. We managed to put the tent up (after one dry run at home) in less than 20 minutes with two of us. It is very roomy inside, more than enough room for three of us, but not sure I would want five in there! We had a double air bed in the big compartment, and a single one in the smaller one, plenty of room left for luggage, but probably would not want any more air beds in there, as would be a squeeze. We stayed dry all week, no leaks, and with so much space, it was easy to stay away from the sides (even a five year old can do it!). On our first attempt at home, we did have some difficulty getting it back into it's bag (although the bag does expand well), but taking it down at the campsite was much easier having already tried it, and it packed away much easier! We would definitely recommend this tent to friends and family, we were very impressed, and can't wait to try it out again soon. 11 August 2012Great when it doesn't rain We used this tent over the jubilee weekend and it was raining non-stop. Had the same problem with the tent not being water tight. Many many tiny drops coming through, which caused the living area of the tent to become wet. It wasn't soaking, but we did have to keep on drying everything. Thought at first that it might have been condensation, but it wasn't. It's a great tent though, with plenty of space and very easy to erect due to the colour coded poles. The sleeping area stayed dry due to the additional inner tent. Have to say, it was a very wet weekend! 20 July 2012Great and useful tent Roomy and practical, sleeps 5 but better with less and having more storage space, sewn in groundsheet means no leaks and drafts, easy and quick to erect. 3000 hydrohead proved good water proofing and I experienced no leaks when camping in Wales. Only had some slight issues with pegging out as the guidelines are slightly different from normal and could not get them all tight as I like, but that is more an issue of me being dumb really. Overall, great product, great value, highly recommended. 11 May 2012Great tent but not waterproof I got this tent Friday, we headed to France that day and Saturday it was up. It is now Wednesday, raining for the third day which is fine. What is not fine is that very fine drops are being hammered through by the rain and slowly but surely soaking everything completely. It really is a great big tent but my laptop is getting wet as I type this 09 May 20121-7 of 7
