Halfords Cone Wheel Brush is rated out of 5 by 8.Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Very poor design The point where the handle meets the brush head is extremely weak and bends very easily. It wont be long before the head will break off. Strogly recommend you look elsewhere. Dont buy!Date published: 2015-09-02Rated 2 out of 5 by xtrand from End cap fell off soon after buying So now there's a sharp metal end that I scratched the alloy wheel with.Date published: 2015-04-06Rated 4 out of 5 by Glen84 from Mayby I'm Just Lucky! Unlike several other reviews for this wheel brush I have to say that in the 12 months I have owned mine I have had no problems at all. To date it's not snapped, nothing has fallen off and the metal core hasn't started to rust (as some brushes do) and the bristles are still in the same shape as when purchased. I use this brush weekly as it's excellent for getting through the spokes and cleaning the inside of the wheel. Living in a very rural area the inside of my E-Class wheels pick up lots of mud and dirt each week and to date I've not seen this scratches from using this brush. The Item isn't totally without fault however. The shaft of the brush does bend, however this can be useful when cleaning inside the wheels and the brush is easily re-shaped. I also find it impractical for cleaning the face of the wheels, I have an autoglym hi-tech brush for this and it's streets ahead of this Halfords brush. Perhaps I was just lucky and got a good one, still I find this brush very useful and would certainly buy another.Date published: 2014-04-07Rated 1 out of 5 by Spiper from Too big and poor quality This is too big to use comfortably and brush bends too easily. The tip also makes it difficult to clean the wheels and pulling this back and forth will get you covered with dirty plashes. Have got a Kent car brush. Much cheaper and easier to useDate published: 2014-01-22Rated 1 out of 5 by Appash from OK but doesn't last Bought this brush to cleans inside of wheels, within one month handle snapped. Replaced by local branch and again two months later (less usage) snapped again at the same place. Wouldn't recommend this product if you want to use it to clean wheels. Read other reviews as this seems to be a common failing of the productDate published: 2012-11-07Rated 3 out of 5 by cartw16 from Good at the moment Bought the brush this week and it did the job of cleaning the inside of my wheels well but as other reviewers have said it won't last long as the wire spindle on the brush is very weak and has bent back and forth after cleaning 4 wheels and it will snap soon ..... will be returning and getting a better quality brushDate published: 2012-06-28Rated 1 out of 5 by Somestupidnickname from Do not buy Please save yourself some heartache and do not buy this useless product! Within about 2 minutes of using the plastic End piece had come off without me noticing. Underneath the ends of the wires which form the shaft of the brush are sharp and unfinished. I now have several scratches on two of the wheels of my two week old BMW 5 series. To say I'm annoyed would be putting it mildly!!!Date published: 2012-05-22Rated 3 out of 5 by Dipity from Good whilst it lasts I have had two of these brushes. The length and number of bristles generally gives reasonable cleaning performance. However the steel twisted wire core which supports the bristles isn't really strong enough for the job. After just a few weeks the constant flexing caused the core to fracture at the handle. Best performance I found cleaning alloys was using a healthy amount of washing up liquid in a bucket and gentle scrubbing. Hard scrubbing will simply bend the brush core very easily. Over the years I have tried all types of brushes and all have their failings. Quite why someone cannot design a humble alloy wheel brush that actually works well and lasts I really don't know. At one stage ( and I still do) I tried a simple Addis floor handbrush. This was brilliant for getting between the spokes and the number and gentleness of the bristles gave brilliant cleaning. Clearly this will not work on badly stained or very dirty wheels ingrained with brake dust but used with a good alloy wheel cleaner it does a great job.Date published: 2011-02-08
