Warnings! The above products are not suitable for application with Hybrid Vehicles. Customers with hybrids should use straight gas for their top-offs or take to a mechanic.
The hybrids mostly use electric compressors. These compressors need 'dielectric oil' that prevents electric current from reaching the exterior metal housing. The industry advises this is a serious safety issue as the electric power involved can be quite high and dangerous.
Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 131 reviewers.Rated 1 out of 5 by Verified Reviewer Damaging to system Ok, before you use this item consider this, withing your aircon system is a part that is basically a honey comb inside, this is the part that the gas passes through to chill the air, The holes here are tiny, the so called leak sealer actually clogs this part up causing the system to over pressurise and blow joints and parts.... I learned this the hard way when I screwed my compressor two pipes this honeycomb part (not sure on name) and something else... It set me back a grand and the guy who did the work for me explained why this had happened... So be warned, while it is fun, it really isnt worth the cost. 24 September 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Nonametwo Aircon regas Follow instructions and it's easy to use with great results. 08 September 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by AJWheels Did I say I was COOL!! My Air-con had been blowing hot air, and over the last few weeks we have had some serious het to deal with. I'm rubbish with anything mechanical but couldn't hold out much longer and decided to bite the bullet and have a go myself. Once I'd located the low air port, I didn't have any reading so thought I'd wasted my money , however over time about 10-15 minutes pressure started rising and cool air started to filter through. by the time I'd finished, climate control was blowing lovely cool air, and so looking forward to driving in warm weather again !!!!! bit pricey, but it does work, and easy to use too ! definitely worth it. 30 August 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by chirpyRichard my aircon works again! This product is used with a filler hose sold separately. The filler hose costs £20 and incorporates a pressure gauge. It is easy to use & you might consider buying the hose first because your system can only be recovered if it has retained some pressure. There is good information on line & in the acommpanying leaflets which make the job simple, 28 August 2016Rated 4 out of 5 by Marie123 Does what it says on the tin This was fairly easy to do and cheaper than taking it to the garage to have the aircon recharged. The aircon is is now working very well again. 26 August 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Pjaye Easy to use product This refill does exactly what it says on the can, it's easy to use and is good for a top up of AC gas, but the price is comparable to having a garage regas your ac and by the time you've paid for the required adapter for the bottle and paid the £10 deposit (keep your recipes for refund on returning empty bottle) it's probably just as easy to call in at a garage. But nevertheless it does work very well. 24 August 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Coolanto Easy to use.. Very easy to use and better than paying £50 to a garage. 24 August 2016Rated 1 out of 5 by SirrrRoyston Didnt Work Bought this, the pressure hose and thermometer to re-gas my air-con. Basically it didn't work. 2011 Mercedes Benz Vito. Tried it twice, re-gas was easy to do. There was a small difference in the temperature but nothing significant. Took it to a Toyota dealer and they said its to do with a gas rating. Returned for a refund, could only get a refund on the gas as i dumped the packaging of the hose and thermometer. Excellent service as usual in my local Newtownabbey store, on both the purchase and refund. 11 August 2016
