Halfords Antifreeze Tester MEG is rated out of 5 by 26.Rated 5 out of 5 by Dynamo11234 from Two minutes check An absolute great little gadget, takes only two minutes to check your antifreeze, simple to use ,dip into your antifreeze squeeze the top and that takes an amount of antifreeze into the clear container then just check count your floating balls, its as simple as that a child could do it.Date published: 2017-01-30Rated 5 out of 5 by Manova from Quick & Easy Check Great piece of kit for DIY car maintenance. Not sure why there are some neg reviews, what do some people expect for under £2? - if you want a workshop hydrometer go and spend £10-£20. We have 3 cars, an old Peugeot run about - the tester indicated no antifreeze (therefore action req'd), a Saab - the indicator showed medium strength (so good for -15C degrees), and an AMG Merc - the indicator showed max strength (good for -30C degrees)...... job done.Date published: 2017-01-04Rated 5 out of 5 by 4x4truck from Antifreeze tester Very simple to use, good visual check on strength of anti freezeDate published: 2016-12-05Rated 1 out of 5 by bella4me from What does it test? I tested this product using water straight from the tap (no antifreeze added) and got a reading of 'low'!! A mixture of 40% antifreeze to 60% water gave a reading between 'medium' and 'high'. Certainly not 'ideal' for checking your protection from freezing.Date published: 2016-12-01Rated 1 out of 5 by Richard1747 from Rubbish Absolute rubbish....made out of cheap plastic and tube too short to reach coolant. Complete waste of time...don't bother!Date published: 2016-03-15Rated 4 out of 5 by Baddabingbaddaboom from Does as it says Excellent price, does just as it says, clear instructionsDate published: 2015-11-17Rated 1 out of 5 by Barbequepete from This product not practical for all cars The glass tube is too short to reach the coolant on my car (Citroen Picassa). The one I used to have had an extending plastic tube to enable you to overcome this problem. The one I have just bought does not have this plastic extension so is completely ineffective for my car (and incidentally was too short to reach the coolant on my son's RAV4 also).Date published: 2015-02-15Rated 4 out of 5 by nick784 from anti-freeze tester Extremely easy to use and understand the three balls for strength are ample for social purposesDate published: 2014-10-29
