Wynns Diesel EGR Valve Cleaner 150ml is rated out of 5 by 48.Rated 5 out of 5 by JoeCST220 from Great product! Had badly running 320d BMW (n47), got dpf professionally cleaned by terraclean. Slight improvement in performance and running. Got a can of Wynne's diesel EGR cleaner to give it a try. Followed simple instructions on can. Car runs perfectly, power restored and I intend to use this as part of my service routine with diesels from now on. Can't recommend this product enough. If your car has lumpy idle, is down on power or cuts out give it a try.Date published: 2017-06-20Rated 5 out of 5 by dunkydory from Phenomenal Product Saw this product after looking at solutions for a diagnostic at my local VW dealer and the prospect of a £1100 bill to replace the EGR on my 2011 Touran!!! The car had raised a glow plug and EMC fault for a few weeks and was persistently in limp mode!! Having decided this quote was too much and getting no satisfaction from VW regarding goodwill, I decided to see if there were other options as the fault indicated that it was with a potentiometer on the EGR. Seeing other reviews for this product had worked to clean out soot buildup I felt it was worth trying, and very glad I did.... Following the instructions I unclipped the inlet manifold after the air filter and proceed to perform short blast (1s) in blocks of 10 followed by gentle throttle to 1500rpm. Left the car to run for 5 minutes then reassembled the manifold and took for a 5 mile drive. The Glow lamp did not go on on the test drive, and after stopping the EMC lamp also cleared. Tried all manner of driving styles and could not make the EGR fault recur. So a truly awesome product and well worth a try before shelling out on expensive dealer replacements. On reflection, it may be caused by using cheaper diesel from supermarkets which skip on some of the additives that premium brands include so will probably ensure the odd tank of premium fuel to avoid this in future.Date published: 2017-04-20Rated 5 out of 5 by AlwaysEGR from So far so good I'm not the type of person to go out of my way and write a review but this deserved it...I think! My problem, 2002 MB S320 cdi. Lack of power, doesn't pick up well but no limp mode, will rev above 3k rpm. Tested MAF and it was OK. Happened just this weekend so not on diagnostics yet. Followed the directions, requires just a screwdriver to loosen the jubilee clip on the air intake after filter. So can be done by anyone. Took it out for a spin. Poot my foot down coming out of roundabout near my house as I've become accustomed to because of this lack of power, nearly lost it. All power appears to be back. But it is early days. I decided to try this after having put 150+k miles on high mileage diesel cars. I have had EGR problems on all of them, ford 1.6 tcdi, BMW 320d, golf V 2.0 TDI and now this.Date published: 2017-03-13Rated 5 out of 5 by MCPatrol from EGR Cleaner Fantastic stuff, follow the instructions and it does what it says on the can. Can spray through the MAF or directly into the EGR, requires minimal tools. Have now fixed EGR problems on a 1.8tdci Mondeo (08), 1.6tdci Focus (09) and a 1.6tdi Fabia (11).Date published: 2017-02-24Rated 4 out of 5 by hedgehogdodger from cleaner good product Had a problem with my turbo the garage said it wanted overhauling at a cost of £650.00.However the prolem was intermittent so i purchased 2 cans of egr cleaner and sprayed into the turbo the spindel was tight and the carbon started to ouse out .Let the solvent do its work and replaced all the pipes and hoses.Since then not a problem the car was a nissan qashqai owned by an elderly guy so i guess never thrashed down the motorway which a turbo needs.Date published: 2017-01-03Rated 3 out of 5 by MrPAH from No Performance Gain I bought this product to clean my EGR Valve on my Mercedes ML270CDi. The product did sort of say what it would do on the tin, It did clean it, BUT So, did white spirit and carb cleaner. For the price of it I would recommend a carb cleaner especially at half the price of this product.Date published: 2016-12-16Rated 5 out of 5 by Audilover1977 from Audilover1977 Been driving 1999 Audi A6 1.9tdi with 200k on the clock. Always had trouble in the 60/80 mph range, engine choked and went into limp mode. Until recently I knew the egr valve was sticking, I've read all the reviews here, 95% of them said it worked for them, and it worked for me. Took me 20 minutes to administer, as per the instructions on the can, car bellowed out a great puff of soot and bobs your uncle, egr is no longer stuck, and performance and boost has increased. £10 fix saved me £100 in the garage. Mechanics don't want to clean egr valves, they would rather fit a brand new part at your expense. Try this first, could save you a fortune, thanks wynns.Date published: 2016-11-08Rated 3 out of 5 by JRMD from Hard to judge how effective it is. We had to get my son's smokey 200k mile Mondeo 2.0 TDCI through its mot. We put a fuel additive in for the week prior and the night before used this product. We sprayed it in downstream of the sensor rather than into the air box. It made the engine knock severely with each squirt and a very small amount of muck came out of the exhaust. Driving, the car still smoked on acceleration and now also hesitated at a point in the rev range. But it passed its mot! (Emissions had been troublesome in previous years.) A big surprise so grudgingly recommended this product.Date published: 2016-10-26
