Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 29 reviewers.Rated 4 out of 5 by MarkLH Worked Brilliantly A much finer grain of Compound than others so i had to use a little more than recommended and press on slightly harder. perfect for softer paint finishes (Newly sprayed or Vauxhall paint!) 23 June 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Standfast Just magic Just lately I seem to get bounced into every hedgerow in every country lane. The car comes out very scratched down the n/s which could break your heart except I have this compound to resolve the situation. I am astonished how little elbow grease is needed and just how effective it is. To get a perfect finish ensure you use a high quality polish on the whole panel you have repaired so that you get an even finish in any light 27 May 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Finn67 Don't bother comparing - this is the one you need You can tell how good this stuff is, there's not a negative comment in the reviews. My car is metallic black and in first class condition, I don't know what it was some jealous steward of a bar threw on it, but after washing and drying it looked like one of those 'splats' you see on girlie cars, right on my bonnet too. I tried the G3 scratch remover and it didn't do a thing, I was bum twitching on a £300 bonnet re-spray then remembered I'd picked this up one visit. Nothing to lose I gave it a shot - top gun decision, I couldn't believe how well it performed, mark totally gone and the bonnet looking like it WAS re-sprayed! For £4 a tube you'll be hard pressed to find ANY car product such value for money. TIP: Use a damp polishing sponge and pressure evenly, have plenty of clean rags for removal. 5***** 21 October 2015Rated 5 out of 5 by DFol Excellent for little pesky resilient handprints on car paintwork Fantastic product for under €6. Was about to fork out €70 for a valet to remove finger prints from the paintwork on my car. Nothing I tried would get rid of them. Was passing halfords last week and happened to go in and ask in a last bid attempt. A real nice guy showed this to me and even went out and tried it on my car. Was amazed. Handprints wiped right off. All you need is a tiny bit at a time and rub gently with a soft cotton cloth. It buffs up like new. My car is like a new car again. Thanks Halfords. 05 September 2015Rated 4 out of 5 by alfaman156 value for money You must use this product sparingly but it does remove runs and overspray 18 August 2015Rated 5 out of 5 by worldparty bad touch up job on mercedes ml This stuff was brilliant. It gradually worked it's way through the touch up paint to the original paint work just by rubbing the compond on a soft cloth and working it on the affected area. Looked like new...great 25 July 2015Rated 5 out of 5 by Varne Great Stuff ! Excellent. If your new paintwork leaves something to be desired [ like wot mine was ] , rub down with 1000/1500 wet & dry paper & lots of water. Then use this compound to finish off. 20 July 2015Rated 5 out of 5 by Spook4 Better than Megs I bought both the Halfords Rubbing Compound and Meguiars Headlight restoration kit at the same time. Megs has a similar compound called plastic-x which is a smoother paste and takes a lot more "elbow grease "to get the same effect as Halfords own. Fortunately I used a Bosch drill and buffing attachment which speeded up the process. I buffed one headlight with Halfords Rubbing compound and the other with Megs and to be honest there was no discernable difference. Whether or not Megs has a Coating to protect the lens or not we will see in a month or so. Anyway a coat of Auto Glym polish will be fine. Over all I would def go with Halfords Rubbing compound. At that cost it simply cannot be beaten 17 May 2015
