Rated 2.4 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.Rated 1 out of 5 by jamie2724 Utter rubbish Chrome finish is great. But CANNOT be lacquered. Goes grey. So absolutely pointless as the paint is so delicate left un-lacquered. Should not be stocked. 18 May 2016Rated 1 out of 5 by Underseal Chrome spray. When spraying look's like chrome when dry l'ts silver. 02 May 2016Rated 1 out of 5 by love4cats Waste of money It is nothing like it described. Don't buy it unless you are looking for 'Metallic grey' spray paint. 12 April 2016Rated 1 out of 5 by Cooper1488 Halfords Enamel Spray Paint Chrome 300ml I don't think this spray paint is fit for purpose as its named "Chrome" and shows a chrome like strip on the lid (usually the colour on the lid is what you get) but does not produce anything like chrome, its more grey. I did however manage to produce a fantastic shine on my little test patch. Unfortunately I will be requesting a refund. 24 August 2015Rated 4 out of 5 by Dainase Good if not perfect I bought this to re-finish the inside of a brake/tail light on an old motorbike. It needed a good sliver finish - the brighter the better as the electrics are only 6 volt - and chrome would of course be ideal. I first sprayed the part gloss black and let it harden for 24 hours before masking off the areas where I didn't want the silver to go. Then I warmed up the paint in the tin and shook it vigorously. With the part hanging on a wire I dusted it very lightly with the can about 18" away using fast sweeps. Don't go closer as too much paint in one go darkesn the finish. Then i waved a heat gun on a low setting over it for 20 seconds to help the layer evaporate before adding another very light dusting, then the heat gun. This was repeated this until the silver appeared solid all over, and hung 2' above an electric fire on low to help the paint bake gently for an hour or so. The finish is very bright - like a hi-po silver - and while a bit soft seems to have gripped quite well. Leaving it a bit longer will help it harden off more. I'm quite happy with the result and will use it again. 11 November 2014Rated 4 out of 5 by AndyJay It's not a can of chrome, so dont expect a chrome finish The only reason I'm giving it four stars is because the instructions on the can will get you, at best, a shiny grey colour. What you really need to do is prime it (sand that smooth) then paint it matt or satin black. Satin is slightly glossy so it may help make it more shiny, but I've used Matt on a few items and it looks fine. The application is the smart part though. When the black paint is dry, get a hair dryer or a heat gun with a very low setting. Hold the can in one hand and the dryer in the other, dust a fine layer of chrome paint on and dry it, then another dusting and dry. Keep repeating until you have full coverage and then leave it alone. You wont get a chrome finish but this is the basic process used to "chrome effect" alloy wheels. Dont be tempted to use this on wheels or things that'll get wet or be touched often. A sit says on the can, it's decorative. 06 July 2014Rated 2 out of 5 by bored123 I wouldn't recommend this product Bought this looking to re paint some thing that was previously chrome turns out the finish is silver defanitly not chrome this wouldnt have bothered me if the paint wouldn't damage so easily I left it to dry for 24hrs and as soon as I touched it it left finger print marks behind. The tin lies! 21 February 2014Rated 1 out of 5 by UpsetConsumer Halfords Chrome Enamel Paint A poor product that doesn't do what it says on the tin. Being of a particular nature and experienced with preparation and spraying of many paint types I immaculately prepared the surface and following exactly the instructions on the can the results were not good. All I can say is that if I wanted a silver paint finish I would have bought silver paint. Do not expect to get what the manufacturer claims. This is the third I have tried with the same results all in all a costly exercise with a finish that does not cure and is easily damaged. I am that frustrated I can't gather the enthusiasm to go back and get a refund. Halfords can keep my money. 25 March 2013
