Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.Rated 5 out of 5 by Verified Reviewer Great Product - Good Results Bought 5 cans of these in matt black to PlastiDip my Ford Fiesta. The Matt black colour turned out really well, the Can size was generous for the price; I managed to Dip my whole Bonnet within 1 Can. Provided you know how to spray properly, i.e. 50/50 streaks, layers etc - This is the perfect alternative to the American PlastiDip and a great product for changing the colour of your Cars Bodywork and alloys. Plus you can peel it off to the bodywork colour for when you re-sell your Car! 18 October 2016Rated 4 out of 5 by 6reyngone Not as easy as the YouTubers claim... The reviewer below wished he'd bought 'genuine US' Plastidip instead of Rustoleum. I've used this Rustoleum stuff, non-US and genuine US Plastidip ( can-t tell the difference?!). The likes of Fonzy from DipYourCar make it look far easier than it really is...their YouTube vid's are intended to sell Plastidip to US customer's at the end of the day. I found this Rustoluem Peel Coat goes further than a can of Plastidip. Stick the can in a bucket of hot water between coats and it was easier to apply than Plastidip using the same method. I've sprayed two sets of wheels using both and removing the excess of my tyres with both was a pain in the ar5e. Just used Plastidip ( 'genuine US!') on four Audi alloys. It was slightly easier to remove off a brand new tyre. But took an age off an older used tyre. DON'T be fooled by video's pulling the excess off in one swoop. Removing them from between the wheel and tyre is time consuming. Applying a Black to Black product beforehand would be a massive help, but I decided against this incase any contaminated the alloy. On this occasion I also used Plastidip Glossifier and I getting a smooth glass-like coat was no easier than it would've been with paint and lacquer. Btw, I wouldn't recommend masking upto the edge of the alloy. Pulling the tape off afterwards will result in lifting up the rubber coat off the alloy. I esperimented beforehand and this happened, even with careful removal. Plastidip is certainly no better than this Rustoleum product. In my opinion, Rustoleum was easier to apply. The end result depends on how well it's applied, it's not a miracle in a can... One initial dust coat, two heavier, even coats and a final heavy wet coat. Dump the can in hottish water for 15 mins between coats and test the nozzle 1st. 03 August 2016Rated 1 out of 5 by steve901 Why didn't I just buy the plasti-dip product? This stuff makes the job twice as hard to do. I followed the directions carefully and it all turned out wrong. First of all it's VERY hard to get off compared to how the plasti-dip looks on youtube videos. You'll end up with loads of it sticking out and it takes hours to remove. I wouldn't have minded this but the end result looks as if I just painted it with a paint brush. I wasted £10 on this over priced product and taking it off will take hours. I would just go for the plasti-dip American product as that's what the pros use on youtube. 26 July 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by BoxsterPHD Great for wheels and plastics A cheaper and more accessible alternative to Plastidip in the UK. With 3 tins I managed to cover all four of my 17 inch winter alloys inside and out. They still look good after 4 months. 4 tins would be better though because in some places the coating is a little thin although still durable. I recently sprayed my front black plastic grilles in black as they were a little faded. Excellent results again. Shake well and keep the tin warm. Also make sure you clean the area thoroughly before painting preferably with IPA. The spray pattern is good and doesn't blob. Overall I'm pleased with the black version of this product. 24 March 2016Rated 1 out of 5 by Alex56 Cracks unlike similar products Worst peel spray ever, used other brands before and was able to make slightly rough surfaces smooth with built up layers. Not with this stuff... It cracks on absolutely anything but completely smooth surfaces. 18 February 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by MarkWSmith Easy to use and does as it should I bought 4 tins of this for 4 alloys to change from silver to matt black for winter use - with the proviso I can clean/peel it off when changing back. Easy to use, good spray pattern and lasts pretty well with good coverage. Similar to Plasti-dip although I think PD is a better product for ease of removal. However, this product gives you 3 months to remove so I'll find out come early March next year. One thing is make sure the area is well ventilated as its a tad pongy to the nose. But thats a minor quibble as its hardly aftershave lol 06 December 2015Rated 4 out of 5 by ST170 PILGRIMS AVOID NOT FOR ANY INNOCENT AT PAINTING WITH AN AEROSOL.. HARD TO WORK WITH, NEEDS TO BE WARM, PAINT, AND ARTICLE WHICH IS TO BE COLOURED.. SLIDES EASILY, NEEDS CAREFUL HEAT GUN APPLICATION WHILE DRYING.. IF PAINTING WHEELS FOR EXAMPLE YOU WILL NEED 4 CANS . AND THIS CAN BE BOUGHT IN OTHER COUNTRIES AS VASTLY CHEAPER PRICES.. LIKE 3 QUID PER CAN 01 November 2015Rated 3 out of 5 by Aaronmcg Good product, though very little options & overpriced Good product, I give it a 3 star as it is meant to be a peel able coating so it's not perminant, I used it to spray my centre console in my of my car which give a good smooth finish but dust settles a little too easy thanks to the matte finish, I would would rather a glossy or silk finish. There are matte, glossy and variety of colours. £10 a can for an average product. I would like to recommend, but would think twice before doing so, i don't want any dirty looks nor disappointed friends or family. For a cheaper price I think this product would be a hit, and for a cheaper price I would 100% recommend 11 October 2015
