Snow Chains Size 50 is rated out of 5 by 4.Rated 4 out of 5 by pete100 from Worked well Once fitted got the car out of a inclined drive with ease. May problem is that they're quite fiddly to fit, although I'm sure there is a knack to it. (really is worth fitting and removing a few times before use) The chain tension mechanism isn't that easy to use and it takes a bit of messing around in order to get the chain to tension correctly. However removal was quick and easy. The chains themselves look reasonable quality and are adequate for the Uk snow fall.Date published: 2013-01-21Rated 4 out of 5 by SheffieldNails from Don't get stuck in the snow again! A solid set of chains, capable of pulling up the steepest of snow covered hills. Don't get caught out again when more snow comes! Bypass all those stuck motorists and get home tonight. Not that easy to fit the first time, but after a couple of goes you will have them on in minuites. You don't want to be driving them about all year though as they do weigh abit, so keep them in the cellar and pop them in the car if there is any chance of snow.Date published: 2010-12-30Rated 5 out of 5 by JCworcestershire from Size 50 snow chains on a Puegeot 206 It's December 2010. Hard snow has hit North Worcestershire. I bought these chains in anticipation of this snow. I fitted them The day the snow fell, &boy did it fall. I had to go out and try them. No other cars on the road except 4x4's. We drove down country lanes with over a foot of snow without any troubles, even made it up hills where 4x4's struggled. Fitting them the first time took a little thought,as with any new gadget I read the instructions. They fitted perfectly. I drove for abour 100 metres and rechecked them-all good. We drove around lanes for about 3 hours without getting stuck once. Anyone thats states these are no good, should relook at the instructions. i didn't go above 20mph, 15mph most of the time. It was snowing after all-commonsense please. The next day I went out again, main road was mostly clear so I had to go slow. but back on compacted snow-again fantastic. I believe the trick is to fit them correctly in the first place and check them often. One did slip slightly, but a quick readjustment and we was all good again, that was down to me im sure, driving a bit to hard. I would advise anyone that lives out in snow prone areas to invest or get a 4x4. 100%Date published: 2010-12-29Rated 1 out of 5 by ZeeGerman from Maggi Ice Blok best avioded high quality, compared to what?? overpriced, more like it. They didn't even bother putting fitting instructions in the box. Also, if you can read the test reports on Schneeketten in Germany, these came out amongst the worst for wear and performance. Definitely not recommended.Date published: 2010-12-17
