It features driver alerts to encourage safer driving, as well as GPS to record when and where incidents occurred. Able to record in either 720p or 1080p, the Dash Cam 30 records in a continuous loop using the included micro SD card, and footage can later be viewed both on the dash cam itself or on a computer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Halfords Poor Service Not the cheapest place if found the dash cam advertised but as I could have it next day I decided to go for it anyhow. Collected the product which the box was damaged but wasn't too fussed as the box doesn't affect the product (or so I thought) got the dash cam out only to see the adhesive pad which sticks to the window had been used before. It had a video of someone else on there. For the price I paid I did t expect a second hand unit and within 30 mins returned it to the store. The woman that served me was very arrogant and not really willing to give a refund at first. Left with a full refund and ordered the product through eBay. Bad customer service on Halfords part

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Tidy Camera This Camera is Around the same size Of A Credit Card In Total, Fits Behind Rear Mirror Nicely... Easy To Operate .At The Start I Had One Major Gripe, It Has A One Minute Recording Loop So In An Hour You Will Have 60 Video Clips,,,, After Consideration I Find It Not That Bad.....Recording Footage Is Excellent , In Low Lit Areas As Well As Built up Areas... Has Settings For Time Gps Location And Speed... Overall Would Recommend..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average Dashcam with some Big Negatives I bought this dashcam on the Garmin name but it doesn't really live up to it. It's a fairly average dashcam with no distinguishing features. Wiring into the car is a pain because you really need to use the Garmin adaptor and cable otherwise the dashcam thinks it's connected to a computer. The Garmin adaptor is HUGE and in my car it interferes with the gear lever. The cable isn't long enough to route round the windscreen. A longer one available from Garmin is expensive for a bit of wire! Why have a car camera that doesn't work straight off a car battery voltage? The only mount available is a Garmin adhesive one. The instructions say not to attempt to fix it unless the temperature is between 21C and 35C. Really! In Scotland it only gets up to 21 in the middle of summer so I just have to wait 6 months before I can use it. Sucker mounts don't work because Garmin put the socket next to the lens so a sucker mount covers half the field of view. Nice! The adhesive one is a permanent fixture too so every thief knows to break in and check the glovebox. The picture is OK. Averagely good in daytime, fairly poor at night when you can't read a numberplate unless its just in front of you. There are better, but it's OK. The 'safety camera' facility is a costly annual update subscription. You'd expect it to be included in the price (or I did anyway) just like map updates etc. So I've just switched it off as my satnav does it for free! So it's OK with a couple of poor points. I wouldn't buy it again knowing what I know now but it will do.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cuts quite a dash Plenty of user selectable options with this very capable dash cam. Picture clarity very good given the screen size. Full recording of GPS location and speed. Only downside is the short length of the power cable although a longer version is available as an optional extra.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Trip Recording Camera I purchased this to record the long distance tours in my Triumph TR7 & not as an accident camera. Conclusions so far:- # Good pictures day and night # Reasonable file sizes (64GB >16 hours) # Garmin software links it to on line maps so it is easy to find locations I want to review. # Incident recording is easily triggered by spurious events, so hsa been turned off # Push Button controls not particularly logical without looking at the camera It does everything I need and is much better for recording these multi-day rallies than the GoPro I used previously. It was a good choice for me. As I have not installed it as an accident camera I am unable to make any comments on this aspect

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very straightforward Just stick it to the windscreen and go. It turns on as soon as you power it up and records until you switch off. The video footage is quite easy to download and view using the Garmin Dash Cam Player or Windows Media Player. The lens is wide angle, so the detail disappears fairly rapidly the further from the car you look. It copes reasonably well with bright sunlight and night driving, but not as good as a decent SLR. All the footage is stamped with date, time, GPS location and speed. The speed camera warning data is a useful addition.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good bit of kit. The dash cam works very well once you get to understand which of the 4 buttons on the side of the unit you need to press to start recording. Downloading the software Player was a bit tricky but once done it works brilliantly transferring video and camera shots. There are 2 modes of viewing/storing video, "saved" and "unsaved". I tend to use the "unsaved" for viewing a short trip recording, this way it's continuous. If you "save" at the end of the trip, it's saved in 1 minute files so a bit tedious to review. If you don't "save" it's not saved on the Player. There's been a lot of criticisms of the mount but I like it. It's small and it fits nicely just above my rear view mirror with the d.c. just to one side of the mirror. So you don't need to fuss about finding that right position. I've hardwired mine (Nextbase kit, entirely compatible) with a short lead to the unit from the headlining which I neatly fix with a black tie to the mount stem when not in use. I use the supplied power cord and a cheap sticky suction holder on the motorbike, so 2 in 1. Well done to Halfords who were very helpful with the purchase
