Learning How To Drive

Book that first lesson

When you're learning to drive, it's important to get an instructor that works with both you and your budget. Don't just head straight to the main driving schools, but ask friends and family to see if there's a local instructor who they can recommend. These instructors tend to be cheaper too, so they're a good bet.

Theory Test -

Before you take your practical, you need to pass your theory test. When you pass, it's valid for 2 years, meaning you have to pass your practical before it runs out. This test consists of multiple choice questions and hazard perception - now's the time to hit those books!

Patience is a Virtue

Just because Gemma down the road passed her test within a couple of months doesn't mean that you will too. Everyone learns at different rates, and driving isn't a skill that comes easily to all! Just take your time, be patient, and know that you'll get there one day.

Practice makes Perfect

Nobody gets good at anything without a lot of practice. This is where generous friends and family members come in - you can get insured on their car and practice driving between lessons with their guidance (so long as they're over 21 and have held a full licence for 3 years).
