The Tacx Flow T2240 Smart Turbo Trainer provides a fantastic training experience thanks to the resistance being automatically controlled by the training programme or app that you're using on your connected device. Of the many possible training options, you can choose the software that best matches you and your way of training. It boasts a max resistance of 800 watts and can simulate a 6% slope for realistic training. • Tacx Flow T2240 Smart Turbo Trainer is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 128.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely worth it I bought this having purchased a new bike and the weather restricting my cycling. I found it easy to setup and use. I bought the additional hard tyre and tablet holder which also incorporates a drinks holder. The tyre reduces the noise compared to my cyclo cross tyre and the unit operates with minimal noise. Using the suggested apps it provides a great indoor cycling experience. It’s variable resistance means that it is much more fun than the traditional gym bike. The apps do link in with other training products such as Strava so you can share your ride. If you are using your standard tyre then it is simply a matter of unlocking the trainer and removing your bike and you are back on the road in minutes. Whilst this is described by many as an entry level device I would argue that unless you are training for the Tour de France it will happily maintain your fitness levels through the poor weather until you can get back outdoors. When not in use it can be folded away and easily stored.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good product, but a drawback in the tech. The trainer is easy to build & appears solid. It comes with a very decent front wheel mount as well, which was a pleasant surprise. The Android app is free & easy to understand, the calibration set up does seem to be overly difficult though. I used the Tacx phone app to calibrate & it's far easier. The trainer has both Bluetooth & ANT+ options to connect the trainer to your tablet, however I found the Bluetooth to keep dropping the connection & in the end I bit the bullet & bought the Tacx ANT+ dongle. Since then connectivity has been seamless. The films are a really good way of enjoying your turbo session, you get to 'ride' some classic routes whilst getting a good workout.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from correction - ERG interactive does work via bluetooth on Zwift I wrote a review (nickname ChumpChump) that was incorrect - the trainer does work interactively with Zwift on iOS / iPad 3 (and 2 I believe). So on that basis I now give this trainer a five star rating - its very good value considering you can spend over £1k on an interactive trainer. What i particularly like about this trainer is its simplicity to set up. Just fix the resistance unit to the frame, plug in and go. The frame is sturdy with two simple fold out legs. It folds and pack away easily and is light. So a great combination of simplicity, value and functionality. If I were to be very picky, the interactive feedback is every so slightly sluggish so it takes a second to ramp up resistance when you hit a hill (although I found it better in when hooked up via BLE vs. ANT+) but the resistance carries on over the top for the same second, so it all works out. This is very picky, given the price of the unit and I that second certainly isn't worth the £800 or more it would cost to buy a trainer that (possibly) wouldn't have this slight issue. So, all in all I'm very happy with the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Briliant Just what I wanted. Paired up with Zwift using bluetooth and my ipad it makes cycling indoors incredibly fun and rewarding. Perfect for winter training :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ERG interactive mode works via ANT+ only - in Zwift A nice quiet trainer but you’ll need an ANT+ set up to use it in Zwift as an interactive trainer - I use Bluetooth with iPad and sadly the trainer doesn’t change resistance on hills with this set up. Which means having to drop down the cassette and pedal like fury to hit + 400watts. This is ‘t Clear in the sales blurb or even within the instruction / on Tacx website. So I’m back on my Tacx Satori smart trainer, which I realise is probably a better trainer, at least for me, as you can directly control resistance with the leaver and instantly reach the resistance/power/cadence you want. I guess you get what you pay for and (presuming it works well via ANT+) the Flow is super value, but not for me. Thankfully I know Halfords has a very good returns service. Satori is quieter though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value, seems well built and easy to set uo Product was simple to set up and works perfectly. Seems well built but only had it a week, so time will tell. Good price for a smart trainer and cost effective way of getting into turbos. Only didn’t give 5 stars as it’s still new!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Having been doing lots of research and hunting for the correct turbo trainer, I tried a direct drive battery operated but had a few issues, wanted a power sourced one and was advised on one but was given incorrect info. So back to research and this kept coming up but obviously not direct drive, easy to assemble and fit bike, easy to connect to Zwift via Bluetooth. Great value, they say you get what you pay for 10/10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smart trainer ERG can be controlled by Bluetooth phone apps or ANT+ The baby brother of the Vortex, much cheaper and just as good. I use this with apps such as FulGaz or Zwift as they can increase resistance by Bluetooth when going uphil and no more manual adjusting a resistance lever or fitting sensors to my bike. Some apps will not control the resistance unless you use ANT+ and a Windows PC. I used my GPS gpx file to upload to the Tacx website and this works great especially uphill and follow a map. Using your iPhone/iPad/Mac/PC/Android and get some training when the weather is poor. It’s raining and -2C, yet I’ve 25miles of warm dry uphill riding today. Don’t overtighten when calibrating. Bought my Father the same trainer to give him a better training experience.
