Thule ProRide 591 Roof Mount Bike Carrier Product Description

The Thule ProRide 591 Roof Mount Bike Carrier is an elegant and convenient way of carrying your bike on the roof of your car.

The frame holder and the wheeltray are designed to position the bike correctly in place with quick-release wheel straps allowing for convenient loading and unloading. Securing of the bike can be done easily at roof height, and can be easily fitted to either side of the car roof.

The carrier is pre-assembled and requires no tools. The universal attachment allows mounting on roof bars up to 60mm width. Included in the pack are T-track adapters which allow the carrier be mounted directly into the T-tracks of the roof bars.

Proride 591 Ordered the Thule Proride 591 with halfords online knowing it could be picked up at any branch. I did need to purchases a carrier for my roof rails and decided on the Thule product. The bike carrier was easy to fit and instructions were a doddle. Pictures speak a thousand words etc. A professional built product living up tp the name of Thule and of course looked great on my vehicle. The key locking mechanism was the icing on the cake as this offered a great level ov security and peace of mind. I could henestly say that i would recommend this carrier to anyone looking for a roof bike carrier solution. 21 May 2012
Very pleased Reservation system worked well. Discounted price meant it was the cheapest I could find at the time. Store called my mobile to confirm it was ready. Thule ProRide 591 Roof Mount Bike Carrier Easy to assemble and fit. Consider your height when purchasing as an adult bike sits very high on top of the vehicle. Quality is great, but you pay for it. I'd be concerned about leaving bike/vehicle unattended given the nature of the lock. 24 November 2011

Excellent Product Decent bike carrier. Holds the bike securely, easy to fit. I wouldn't expect the locks to provide much security against theft of the bike though. Bought mine when there was an extra 10% off. Recommended. 01 November 2010
Great even for big bikes I bought this to take m step-daughter's extremely heavy "Mary Poppins" bike and it is superb. It's very easy to fit the bike (iimportant when it's such a heavy one and our car is a people mover so the roof is high) and it holds the bike securely. 09 October 2010

I have mounted the proride on a bespoke roof-rack for a folding camper trailer which is a wider than normal - square box section crossbar. The 92mm supplied bolts are only just big enough and I can only get about 2-3 turns into the cylindrical piece meaning its not fully secured. If a bolt could be supplied which is 100mm, or greater - my problem would be solved.

Unfortunately there are no longer mounting bolts available for fitting the Thule ProRide 591 Roof Mount Bike Carrier. Thule carriers are designed to fit Thule bars or bars that resemble them. Standard fitment would require a bar about 55mm x 28mm oval. Otherwise there are T-Track adapters available – if your bars have this facility.

Hi. I bought 2 of these a couple of years ago and the Thule bars etc. from local branch. Have recently changed car and have bought Thule wing bar for roof I no longer have the bolts to attach the bike rack to the bar as it looks like it has to use the t-track bolts instead of the clamps that fitted the old bars. Can I get some?

The Thule ProRide 591 Roof Mount Bike Carrier is suitable for use with cycles 16" and above so is therefore suitable for use with your 20" cycle.

I own a thule 591 cycle carrier and am very pleased with it, unfortunately one of the wheel strap assembly's have cracked, hence no longer locate on the main piece of the carrier.
Is it possible to obtain a replacement rather than buy a complete new carrier?

We only recommend using the Thule ProRide 591 Roof Mount Bike Carrier with Halfords or Thule roof bars. However, if these roof bars have T-track adaptors for accessories, this will enable the carrier to fit.
