The Loctite Ultra Copper Gasket Seal 5920 forms a flexible high temperature silicone seal. It is non corrosive and temperature resistant up to 350 degrees Centigrade.

Hi, thanks for your interest in Loctite 5920 Premium Silicone Copper Gasket Maker/Sealant. This product would not be suitable as the throttle body may have fuel travelling through it. The manufacturer recommends using Loctite 5922 Flange Sealant (item code: 122542). Simply enter item code into internal search bar to locate product online.

I'm looking for a product to plug a small oil weep from the gasket under the rocker cover. I'm tying to avoid removing the cover and replacing the gasket beacuse of the amount of work needed just to get access.

Thanks for the replies. As suggested did clean around the cover, I used halfords brake cleaner, and applied the loctite. I left the car for 24 hours before starting it.

5 months and over 6000mils later there has been no weeping at all. Really pleased with this.

There is a good chance that it would work but the product must be put onto a oil free, clean surface and allowed to cure for at least 6 hours before it sees any oil. This is not an ideal fix rather a short term fix.

Loctite 5940 is not deemed to be electrically conductive, but it has a Volume resistivity of around 1.69x10^14 Ohm cm. Yes it will stick to itself, so the parts could be stripped down and re-bonded.

No, these silicone based products will break down in Methanol.
Anaerobic products like Loctite 574, Loctite 243 would be resistant but not as gap filling and 150'C max temp.
