VERY HELPFULL this is a great item... if you are reading this then you have got the right product for the job!! gas doesnt last as long as i would like but it is not a problem as the tank on full lasts 20 mins on medium heat.. ALSO phone the store you are going to reserve this item at as i have been informed that it is no longer being stocked by the smaller stores even though this reserve system might tell you that there are some available. 25 May 2009

How Powerful

I need to solder 12v battery lugs together to make bigger pack ie 24v

Should be straightforward, but please note that soldering tip need to be tinned first (the process can be found online, it basically involves coating the steel tip with a layer of solder/tin)

The 40w iron heats up quickly and gets plenty hot enough. If you're using wires to link it all up it can help to heat up the wire ends and apply solder to it first, then try to solder it to the lugs.

Batteries are susceptible to heat, as is the plastic they're made of so be quick with the iron. Maybe do the job in several attemps and leaving a few minutes inbetween for the batteries to cool down
