Pleased with purchase After looking at loads of trainers, eventually opted for this. Very happy I did, didnt need to spend any more to get one that was up to the job and not half as loud as I expected. Even at full pace it's just a humming noise, not annoying anyone in the house at all. Seconds to fit bike in and out, very stable once in. Worth pointing out for anyone I'm using original slick tyre on 700 x 23 rim and all is well! 01 August 2012
Open the Box Well if your going to buy this item make sure you open the box before leaving the store. The instruction manual that came with mine has some blank pages which, typically are the ones with the english instructions on pages 12 & 13 There is 3 screws that should come within the box - mine had 2 If anybody is going to be within 2 miles of you during use you may find a knock from the environmental health due to noise pollution - Very very noisy. 04 June 2012

Excellent purchase Does everything expected, and very much cheaper than buying an exercise bicycle. Can be used in all weathers, and gives a full workout without the elements, so one has no excuse to start a fitness programme. The ability of increasing the tension is a usefull feature. 02 May 2012

Super value I spent quite a while looking for a trainer that could be used easily at home. The Halfords Mag machine seemed to fit the bill. I was not disappointed and found it very straight forward to assemble. It is very well made with high quality materials giving a first rate riding experience. I would suspect that it will give many years of use. I soon realised I should change my off road tyres for road ones, which cuts down noise considerably. All in all I am very happy and my training regime is now on track! 15 April 2012
Well Done Halfords Putney Road Leicester Tried to purchase an entry level cycle trainer today. Two local stores were not helpful, wouldn't let me try before buy. The guys at Putney Road branch here in Leicester were brill. They built one up in the shop while I waited and put a bike on it for me to try. The staff at this branch were a credit to Halfords. As for the product, I've only just started using it today and it seems ideal for my purpose. Easy to set up and with the money I saved I fitted a speedo and cadence computer. 14 April 2012

Answer: 
Yes, this Magnetic Trainer will work with the Ridgeback Comet due to its universal axle fitting system. However, if you have a 'Knobbly' tread style rear tyre you will be required to replace it with a slick tread.

Noisy bike stand

We bought a bike stand were your current bike can fit to it and you can pedal in your living room watching your soaps and what, the device is connected to the back wheel put when you start pedalling it makes an awful racket really loud as the buffer bit at the back goes round, is there anything that came be done as its driving us mad.
Its a Elite Volare Mag, black and white with red, 5 resistance levels with remoteadjustment

Doubt it. The trainer comes with a QR skewer that fits through the rear wheel and fits snugly into the trainer mounts.

Unfortunately, the Elite Mag trainer does need to be used in conjunction with a specialist QR Skewer and as a result is not compatable with the Apollo Elise Cruiser.
