Battery replacement A car battery is a car battery but this one seemed a reasonable price and is guaranteed for 3 years so what more can I ask ? Fitters also worked hard to resolve what was far from a straightforward fitting. 08 January 2011

Hi, thanks for your interest in Halfords Lead Acid Battery HB075. Halfords do not list this size battery with terminals the opposite way round.

Car Batterys

Was sold a new halfords battery HB075 seven years ago for my 2001 Y Vauxhall Vectra 1.8i Petrol but never used it. Now I need to fit it,but on checking your web site I see that the battery recommended now is HB065. Can I still use the HB075 or is it now deemed unsuitable.

Hi, thanks for your question on Halfords Lead Acid Battery HB075. The HB075 is a suitable replacement, however after 7 years it may not have sufficient Cold Cranking Amps for the vehicle. We suggest you that you check your battery is working effectively. Halfords trained professionals can check your battery for free. Please contact your local Halfords store, pre-booking may be required.

Vauxhall Vectra V485 EDG
I have looked up appropriate replacement batteries but my manual talks about having the radio code reset when the new battery has been fitted. Is this an easy part of the installation if I get you to fit a new battery?

Depends on the radio but is usually just a 4 digit pin to enter. As long as you've got the pin then it's no problem but if you don't, it's usally a dealer re-set.

We currently only sell our leisure battery products in stores. We have a range of leisure batteries which covers most leisure needs. Leisure batteries will be added to halofrds.com in the near future for reserve on line and collect in store
Halfords recommend the Halfords fully automatic battery charger (code 181750) as a good all round battery charger.
