Erde 122 300mm trailer cover I bought a second hand trailer for camping but it want big enough to cope so I decided to buy this extension cover. I did the usual doing around and even through Ebay etc Halfords was the best price. Delivery was free and promised within 2 Weeks. Out arrived after just 1 week which was a nice strip surprise and fitted easily. Its doubles the capacity of the trailer. Its a must for us but a with everything trailer related its very expensive for what it is. 14 September 2012
Cost Effective Capacity Increase Whilst a little pricey for what is provided, the cover inceases the capacity more cost effectively than buying a bigger trailer. You get two U-shaped tubes that sit on corner pieces at the back and front of the trailer. The two tubes that run the length of the trailer are flattened at the ends and bent 90 degrees to fit into slots in the end tubes. A bit tricky to put together single handed (but can be done with a bit of a balancing act), easier with two. The cover is what holds everything in place with a tough elatic rope around the edge. The cover is much tougher than the original flat cover. The extra space can be used for anything heavy that still mostly sits in the body of the trailer, or lighter items for example folding chairs, bedding, that sit on top. 14 February 2011
Extra space a bonus Very easy to assemble and adds great additional space to trailer, a must when camping. However a bit pricey for what it is - 4 hollow steel bars and a bit of waterproof fabric!... but needs must! 31 May 2009

Do objects need to have their base and centre of gravity inside the trailer with the cover simply allowing them to protrude above the original depth of the trailer?
Is there a limit to the weight of objects that can be placed totally above the top level of the trailer?

i have helped freinds move house with washing machines and fridge freezers going in my 122 trailer no probs at all. i even carried a sofa and one single chair at the same time as long as it's tied down securely. total carrying weight is about 750kg .

THIS IS A COVER WITH STEEL FRAME, IT IS NOT WEIGHT BEARING, BUT GOOD QUALITY MATERIAL WHICH CAN TAKE SOME WEAR.
Do objects need to have their base and centre of gravity inside the trailer - YES with the cover simply allowing them to protrude above the original depth
of the trailer? YES - AND THUS PROTECTING THEM FROM WEATHER CONDITIONS
Is there a limit to the weight of objects that can be placed totally above the top level of the trailer? COMMON SENSE I GUESS, REALLY FOR SAFETY
CUSTOMERS SHOULD BE ENCOURAGE TO KEEP CENTRE OF GRAVITY AS LOW AS POSSIBLE. Limit should not be more than 20pct of load capacity.

No, The Erde 122 30cm Trailer Cover is a steel frame and does not allow the hardtop to be placed on top of this steel frame.
