Erde ABS Load Bars I found these to be the cheapest on the internet, and once purchased arrived very quickly. All in all they where very easy to fit to my ERDE abs cover, and the holes are pre-drilled in the metal frame, so I only had to drill the plastic cover with 8 holes. Took me around 20 minutes in total to fit. Will need drill and large bit Spanners & a Screwdriver 28 May 2012
erde abs trailer bars these are great solid bars for erde abs cover, and to be fair, not bad price for the quality & parts supplied. instructions are very poor, but google fitting instructions & there is a good tutorial with pics. i drilled my own holes through abs top & metal frame, so bars would fit the top box we had. halfords delivered very quickly (few days). the only fault or negative i can see, is that anyone armed with a spanner or adjustable wrench could steal these bars off the trailer in a couple of minutes. (& watever was secured or locked to them). i have pot rivetted the upstands to the abs cover & upstand to curved bars to prevent any theft. 23 April 2011
as advertised good product, as needed, shame the lack of fiiting instructions left me scraching my head for ten minutes. That being said- good solid product. 29 May 2010
ERDE ABS Bars This does exactly what it says, the only critisism is that the instructions aren't very clear. You have to drill 8 holes which are prtapped for you no problem there but it mentions about putting in strengthening bars which are provided but it doesn't make it clear where they go. Having said that I am very pleased with the product 24 January 2010
4-bike transport solution Solved the challenge of taking carrying 4 cycles by road with an Erde 122 Trailer, ABS Lockable cover, Roof bars and 4 Halfords Advanced bike carriers. We got a great dry easy tow trailer for the camping gear and a chest height rack to load the bikes on. This was so much easier than a roof rack and rear carrier combination. Erde roof bars now appear to be stocked at Halfords and fitting is not tricky. 13 October 2009

as a rule of thumb, most top boxes are 50kg max weight distributed evenly.
the bars will naturaly support 50kg weight, but remember to check the max weight your trailer can carry.
you will have weight of items in trailer, weight of the bars & weight of whatever you put on the bars to consider

yes, absolutely. first work out the spacing for your roofbox that accepts the bars, then drill your own holes to fit bars onto abs cover so they will match the clamp positions for your top box

Yes, a roof box can be fitted to the Erde ABS Load Bars as long as it does not exceend the maximum weight that the bars can hold.
