Caravan Weight Control I use this device on my motorhome. A bit tricky centering each wheel on such a narrow area but it does record the weight on each wheel which is important so that the tyre load is not exceeded for a given pressure. A weighbridge will only give axel weight which may not be good enough particularly if laden weight is biased to one side of the vehicle 30 May 2012
most useful tool This is an easy to use device, good to know if the weight is ok and towing safe. certainly the motor mover on my caravan made gaining the weight easier, clear and easily understood instructions. a must for every conscientious caravaner. 14 May 2012

I notice that this is commonly referred to as a 1000kg unit. Does this mean per wheel or is this the total mass that it can measure?

Answer: 
Using the Caravan Weight Control is very simple. Switch on the scale and with the menu button choose the right programme: vehicle (motorhome) or caravan / trailer (one axle or tandem axle). The display shows symbols for the chosen vehicle type. Then simply place the unit at a right angle in front of or behind the wheel indicated on the display and drive over the scale as slowly as possible. You can then read the wheel load of the wheel in question. By pressing the menu button, the next wheel is indicated. After repeating the procedure for each wheel you know the single wheel loads; then press the 'Total' button and the total weight of the vehicle will be indicated.
