Silver batteries provide up to 45% more starting power and up to 30% longer life than a standard battery. Power Frame technology means there is a stronger more stable grid within the battery designed to aid with the above as well as give a faster re-charge acceptance and optimum energy flow. Bosch 12V Silver Car Battery HSB075 Well what can i say, it's a battery, but it does exactly what it says on the Tin. Yes it's expensive but the 5 year no quibble guarantee is worth the money alone. I would say it's a good investment! 14 September 2011
Does what it says on the label You need to rely on a car battery so go for the best you can afford. This battery was the best with a 5 year warranty. It was the perfect replacement and easy to fit. I would strongly recommend it. 24 May 2011
A good buy A great buy. After having trouble with the old battery, this is a god send. Engine starts within a second. Can have all sorts of electronics (eg DVD player for the kids) in-car without any issues. Ordered this on-line and collected from the shop. good battery worth getting this battery had great service at halfords in chippenham today .my original halfords battery which was nearly out of guarantee started to loose voltage they tested it and swapped it for the boch silver battery .. thanx halfords in chippenham great service ... First Class Battery I had problems with My Omega,not starting 1st time, and it then failed on me twice. I reserved this on-line and picked it up and fitted it in 10 Minutes, the car roared into life. My car is a CHRYSLER PT CRUISER CRD LIMITED (2148cc DIESEL, 5 Door HATCHBACK). the battery is located under the front passenger seat and when fitted, the battery is on its side. I have been told that this needs to be a gel battery to stop leaks . The batteries recommended are bosch 12v silver hsb075 and halfords calcium. please confirm they are safe to be fitted on their side and will not leak battery acid nor expel toxic fumes being that the battery is inside the seat compartment

Answer: 
The HSB075 needs to be fitted upright despite being maintenance free so that it can gas during the charging cycle. It isn't suitable for your CRD Diesel PT cruiser. If you can't locate a suitable Gel battery it's probably best to an original aftermarket product.

Some diesel PT Cruisers have leak-proof Optima batteries to cope with this fitment. Lead acid batteries are not suitable for these vehicles and yours will be one of this type. This applies to some, but not all, diesel PT Cruisers.

I have a 54 plate 2.8 CRD Chrysler Grand Voyager. The battery has gone, but the dimensions for the battery your website recommends is about 10cm too long. The dimensions of the current battery are roughly L255xH180xL160. Which battery in your range would you suggest?

Answer: 
The ideal battery for your vehicle should be a US spec Bosch Optima (part number RTR4.2). Some manufacturers suggest 086 as an alternative but this could be too long for the space you have, or 013 which would fit but does not deliver the correct Ah value. We do not stock the Optima battery but your local Halfords store may be able to order one for you.

hi, bought a hsb075 car battery for a 1996 Ford escort lx tdi (diesel)- the connections on the battery are different to those on the previous battery and the wires dont fit on?
is there a different battery i must buy for this car?
