Thule Xpress 970 Bike Carrier Product Description

The Thule Xpress 970 Bike Carrier is the only bike carrier of its type that has ISO approved towbar coupling. It can also carry 2 bikes and will fit most bike frames.

The rubber coated frame holders keep the bikes firmly in place and also protects the frames from scratches.

The product can be folded flat to allow for easy storage, and is in fact compact enough so that it can be kept in the boot of a car.

so easy to fit This has to be one of the best cycle carriers on the market, it s so easy to fit, its well made takes up very little boot space when not in use, ideal if you have a convertible, i use mine on a fiat 500c. 04 August 2012
Excellent product!! Totally agree with other 5* comments; it’s worth every penny. A simple but ingenious design makes it so quick to attach or detach from car. The carrier works because it clamps to the tow ball and neck of the towing hook, so it cannot shift even when fully loaded. I have a swan neck tow hook but it will fit all types. Absolutely recommended! 10 May 2012

Very good and very easy to use Fits over the tow-ball easily and is very secure- you have to see it to know how clever and simple it is. I was a little dubious before buying, but NOT after using. Fits my Disco 3 no problem (with swan neck detachable ball). 02 April 2012
Surprisingly good !!! Thule Xpress bike carrier looks like it should not work but in fact forms a very robust bike carrier which is very easy to install and despite quite forceful testing has supported two mountain bikes over very rough terrain. Fitment to a LR Discovery was a little tight and care was needed to ensure handle bars do not damage bodywork. Overall very impressive. 26 October 2011
Does what it says on the tin I must admit I was confused whether there were really 2 different Thule Xpress 2 bike carriers - sometimes the 970 Pro moniker was used and at other times not. The Thule site only shows one so I assume there's only one but I still don't know if all the ones advertised are actually the same. Overall, very good and convenient. Highly recommended 17 May 2011

We have spoken to Thule as to whether the Thule Xpress Pro 970 Bike Carrier is suitable for your vehicle. The ’98 5 door hatchback version does fit this vehicle as long as you have a suitable towball (50mm) on the vehicle. We believe the 97 version should be the same but we cannot guarantee this. For further help and fitment advice please visit your local store where a member of staff will be happy to help find you the most suitable carrier for your needs.
