Not a good idea Can't leave it on dashboard as shows you have a satnav. If you take it off the stickiness will become useless. 10 December 2011

Dont stick Great idea the pad sticks firmly to dash with no problem. However I find myself regularly re attaching the sat nav back to the mounting as it dont like hot days or bumpy roads only motorways I will continue to use it as its more leagal than attaching your sat nav to the screen as your car will fail the MOT if mounted in the screen as i experianced last year! 20 August 2011
Excellent product This is a fantastic product. You need to make sure however that it is used on a flat surface, if the surface is curved and you stick it down this will stop the suction cup sticking. I have also seen that people have said that they sticky pad will not hold, this is not the case as I had to buy two of these, the first one I stuck to a curved surface, I had to remove it using two screw drivers to help leaver it up from the dash. If you make sure that you give the area a good clean with meths before sticking you should have no problems. Mine is mounted under my ash try and has supported my TomTom XL without any issues even on a 4 hour journey on the only hot summer day of 2011. 17 July 2011
good product can only be used if you have flat dash board so had to return it back 25 April 2011
Sat Nav Mounting disc This dics has an sticky back, made by 3M, and its fantastic. Once on, it will not come off. Great product. 21 March 2011

I wanted to stick something behind the rear view mirror but there are some black dots to help stop glare. these stop the suction cup will from a forming a seal so i wanted to stick this mount on these.And i just wanted to know if it will work.

Answer: 
They stick to "Pimply" surface of dashboard so I don't think the rain rain detector "Black dots" would prevent it adhering to glass at all.

In most cases yes it can be removed witout leaving any marks.
It will leave part of a foam pad when removed but this can usually be removed by rubbing your finger over it.
If its attached for a long time it may affect what it was attached to.
