AlcoSense One Pocket Breathalyser Product Description

The AlcoSense One Pocket Breathalyser beats the competition hands down and at a similar price point. AlcoSense ONE is the lowest priced product EVER to be approved by the tough US Dept of Transport Standard for Hand Held Breathalysers. Slightly different to the rest of the range, AlcoSense ONE shows your level of intoxication in % BAC (percent of blood alcohol content) and shows your reading in increments of 0.01. AlcoSense ONE reads up to 0.12% BAC - 1.5 times the UK limit.

It's high gloss black design can discretely be kept anywhere. AlcoSense ONE measures only 19mm x 30mm x 16.5mm and weighs only 66 grams including batteries. It is powered by 2 x AAA batteries meaning that you can use it anywhere at any time.

Alco Sense One Pocket Breathalyser Small, neat, handy and easy to use. Bought purely to meet French driving regulations but useful nevertheless. Would like the sound to be louder - very difficult if hard of hearing. 18 May 2012
Very Poor After following set up the breathalyser gave a 0.00 reading from start. After consuming 25 units of alochol it still showed Zero. Halfords replaced it. Second unit worked once then showed a zero reading after consuming 8 units. Halfords replaced it with a alcossense Lite - which works perfectly 02 February 2012

Useful the morning after This pocket sized breathalyser provided great entertainment on Xmas day as it was passed around the circle of those who had obviously had too much to drink! There is no tube to blow down, instead there is a vent at the top of the product into which you blow in. If you have just drunk alcohol, you are advised to drink water and wait for half an hour before using the breathalyser, otherwise the result is abnormally high. I believe it was designed more for use the morning after rather than after you have been drinking (ie. to see if you are safe to drive home). All in all, a good product, however if you are looking for a reliable tool to judge whether on not you can drive home that night, I would suggest buying a more expensive, more accurate one. 05 January 2012
Great I bought this for my 20 year old son, he would go out on a Saturday night and not come in till early hours on a sunday morning then get up for football at 9.30 telling me he was ok to drive to football when I got him this product and asked him to use it after a night out he was shocked to see he was over thr limit, all the times he had drove he was probs over the limit, it is a great machine, every young adult should have one!!!!! 20 December 2011
Excellent item! This product is compact and small enough to fit in your pocket. It is 100% accurate and because of this you will never get in your vehicle under the influence! Amazing little gadget, so well worth the money. 15 December 2011
Breath Test The first thing you have todo is calibrate it when you are sober, basically doing a breath test twice. The instructions say you should do this every two weeks. It seems to work well, I tested myself when I got home from a night out and it said 0.1% BAC, then in the morning 0.0%. The maximum it measures to though is 0.12%. 03 December 2011
Should not drive the morning after without this Very simple and easy to use. Gives a good gauge as to wether its ok to drive or not. 22 November 2011

Answer: 
NF Approval is the standard required by the French government.
This product does not have this approval, and so will not satisfy the French law requiring breathalysers to be carried in the car.

It's the approval required to ensure the Breathalyser meets the standard required by the French authorities. From 1 July you must have at least 2 Breathalysers, which are NF approved, in your car if you are going to drive in France

Only NF approved units are legal in France. NF stands for "Norme Française", which translates roughly to French Standard. It's the French equivalent of our "BS" or "British Standard". Please be aware that the AlcoSense One Pocket Breathalyser is not NF approved.

No mouth piece, there is a vent at the top of the product which you blow in. This does allow you to use it multiple times, however it is probably not the most hygienic if you are sharing the product with other people!

no its a complete unit with no replacement parts, you blow into the unit so not really hygenic for multiple users but a lot better for single users as no further expense

It is a plastic unit with holes at the top, you breathe directly into the unit therefore there is no need for tubes and the expense of having to replace them.

The AlcoSenseâ„¢ One Pocket Breathalyser doesn't require mouthpieces. AlcoSenseâ„¢ ONE can be used again and again but for the most accurate results it is recommended waiting one hour between tests so the previous sample can fully evaporate from the sensor chamber. If you wish to do multiple tests in a short time we recommend considering the AlcoSense Lite 163298 or Elite 163680 for their sensor clean and purge features, both for which you can purchase spare AlcoSenseâ„¢ Breathalyser Blow Tubes 163306 which as supplied in a pack of 20.
