Boardman Road Team Carbon Product Description

An ideal choice for those wanting a top quality carbon bike finished with high spec components, the Boardman Medium Road Team Carbon Bike sports an ultralight T700 carbon frame with tapered headtube, BB30 bottom bracket and internal cable routing. On top of this, it features a full carbon fibre fork, Shimano 105 20 speed gearing, Mavic Aksium silver wheels and carbon fibre seatpost.

This bike includes a 'raw' finish - the carbon has been painted with a clear lacquer to allow the carbon to show through, allowing you to see the high level of engineering behind this frame. The small undulations in the UD cloth reflect the light in different ways which gives an interesting and unique finish, this is perfectly normal with a UD finish - the lack of paint also saves a small amount of weight, adding to the performance.

Boardman bikes are inspired and developed by Olympic Champion cyclist Chris Boardman. Chris Boardman has described the Boardman road range as- "Taking all the experience from my own pro career alongside input from Olympic, World and National Champion riders, these bikes have been designed with one goal in mind...performance. Whether you compete on the world stage or in your local sportive you too can share the same experience."

Fantastic bike Bought this bike to loose some pounds. Been mountain for a few yrs this is my first road bike. Wot can I say about this bike ? It's the dogs. Spec is ace for the £. If u are in the market for a road bike don't consider anything else. Got mine from the Scarborough branch the lads in the bike department no there stuff and service is second to none. 23 February 2013
A brand to be Proud of I have many Boardmans including an AiR 9.8 and SLR 9.4, I purchased 3 of these bikes from the Salisbury branch in Wiltshire and I havent been dissapointed. I use these as my winter and training bikes so in a way they get more punishment than my race machines. The Bike is fantastic and for the price point it has excellent equipment, there isnt much i can say that hasn't already been said but one thing I can add is that, after covering ten thousand miles on my first Team Carbon nothing has gone wrong with it, the obvious things have worn out like tyres, chain, rear cassette, but that is just sheer miles nothing else. The team in Salisbury are fantastic, Christian and Matt in the bike hutt are both well versed in Boardmans which helps hugely. The components i would recommend to change if you want would be: the carbon seat post is adaquate but not great, a Ritchey carbon post is a lot better and lighter, and possibly the wheels, keep the Mavics as winter trainers and get some nice light summer race wheels, also a personel taste change would be black bar tape and saddle, the saddle is excellant but is white, I have covered thousands of miles on all my Boardmans and unless the product takes a huge u-turn I cant see myself buying any oither make. The only thing I would add is that these bikes have a Race Geometry whch means they are long and low Not a sit up ride. Most seasoned riders will want this but if you are after a more relaxed ride you might need a shorter stem flipped over or maybe the Boardman Comp would be a better shape. This is no way a negative, just a point, this frame follows an Olympic design so it's bound to be racey. 29 January 2013
Excellent Bike I bought a 2010 team Boardman but did not like the sram kit or the wheels not having reinforced spoke eyelets, but the bike was so good I bought a 2012 team carbon. The 105 kit is excellent and the spoke holes are reinforced. The cranks have too much flex for me and the finish could be a lot better. The Halford branch where purchased did not use a torque wrench on either bike. I checked all torques when I got home. They also assembled wheels with quick release lever facing forwards, a big no no from me. AS an retired engineer I wnt be taking back for its free service, can do much better myself. I have had to adjust front changer to counter crank flex. Would I buy another? absolutely yes. 15 January 2013
Great Components,Stylish frame,a joy to ride! First the negatives about this bike...ERM! Ok,if i was to pick one out it would be the quality of tyres fitted..but that can easily be solved. I decided to upgrade from my Boardman Hybrid comp to the Team Carbon road bike. After researching the bikes from most of the main brands within this price bracket i opted for this bike out of 3 i selected, based on quality of components, frame, looks, price, weight, and performance.,The bike is simply a joy to ride with smooth gear changes, brakes that react, and is very fast for both speed and uphills.I would have no doubt whatsoever to recommend this bike. A word has to go to Tom at Cannock branch who offers a very good professional service, which also helps when you know if any problems occur it will be dealt with. Also if you are considering a Boardman bike, look at becoming a member of British Cycling...you get a 10% discount which is worth it when spending this amount of money on a bike. 14 October 2012
BRILLIANT What can say about this bike that hasn't already been said? In short this bike is fantastic. Its build quality is exceptional and the components used are of a very high spec. I love it. Only devastated that its snowed since purchase so been sat in my hallway unused. 13 February 2012
Good Value A good value bike when compared to the competition. Early days but at the moment thoroughly enjoying the bike. Service from Halfords was very good. Encountered a small issue on the price due to a misunderstanding but Halfords were very accommodating. All in all, very pleased. 22 March 2012
Excellent I cannot believe the first review of this bike (if you want a realistic view look at the reviews of the medium and xl bikes). This is a quality bike. It is fast and although quite stiff manages to dial out the bumps and lumps on England's useless roads. It also looks absolutely stunning and, the carbon effect paintwork is great (mine does have some slightly poor finishing albeit does not detract from overall look or feel). Can you find another carbon Nike for this price point? Unlikely. Can you find one with decent spec? Again unlikely. As for heavy, it's about 8kg. Change the wheels in due course and you're getting close to legal limit. I'd say if you are looking for a serious road bike without completely blowing the budget you won't be disappointed. Quick word also for the lads at White City Halfords who did a great job on this. 06 November 2011
