Just what I needed Bought this as a replacement for the Truvativ Blaze chainset that I'd damaged on my Carrera Fury MTB. This works a treat and I didn't even have to adjust the indexing on the gear shifts when I put it on. 24 October 2012

Answer: 
Unfortunately this Crankset and Bottom Bracket are not compatable. The Crankset uses a PowerSpline interface which would need to be used in conjunction with a PowerSpline bottom bracket (Cat Code: 907618).

You can get this crankset with the square taper interface that will fit your square taper bottom bracket so you don't have to change that necessarily.

You might have to search different stores though.

Bottom brackets have an axle/spindle of a particular length which the cranks attach to.

they can be square, ISIS splined (generic), powersplined (sram/truvativ), octalink v1 or v2 (shimano) are the main ones.

Your crank arms have to match one of these designs to fit (shape of hole in the crank arm that goes onto the BB spindle).

So if your BB is good, then buy the crank arm/set to match.

If BB worn out then you get to choose which design to buy and then buy cranks to match.

Note, going upmarket there is a totally different design of bottom bracket rather than these traditional designs but that's another conversation. Lookup hollowtech or GXP on google if you want to find out more.

This will fit the Carrera Vulcan. However, it will require a new Bottom Bracket to allow it to be fitted. The original chainset on the Vulcan uses a square taper bottom bracket whereas this SRAM chainset uses a Power Spline bottom bracket. These are available to special order from your local Halfords store. Should you require any further assistance please take your bike to your local Halfords store where a trained member of staff will be able to advise you further.
