The Carrera Subway 22" Hybrid Bike is equipped with a fantastic specification which includes Tektro IO mechanical disc brakes for powerful stopping power in all conditions and also 24-speed Shimano gears with a Shimano Altus rear mech which provides smooth gear changes to make light work of the tougher urban commute. With a lightweight alloy frame and rigid forks to Carrera Subway is well suited to road riding, paths and light trails.

Great bike Bought this bike two weeks ago and I can say that it is a brilliant hybrid for its price. Great gears bearings and the grips are very comfortable. The only let down is the tires are too thick therefore it is slower on the road. I just wish this had thinner tires and it would be perfect. 27 July 2012
Good but not as good as earlier models Well,i really wanted to give this five stars, but i have had this about two weeks now, and used it extensively, and must agree that it is indeed a good looking bike, but i think that the subway 2 i bought back in 2004 is better than this, not neccersarily with regards to gearing and bearings, just the performance i got from it, i purchased the xl frame or 22inch, i do not agree with the fact that there is no change in wheel size i.e. still 26 inch, my friend who i cycle with has a giant seek 3 with a smalller 18 inch frame but 28 inch wheels and easily hands down finds the routes we do a lot easier, yet when i was on my subway 2 it was the other way round, and that is his opinion, the tyres on this model are quite wide, at least double width than my previous, perhaps i should have gone with my intuition and bought the giant, but my fondness for my previous subway pulled me towards this, if i could take it back i would, but by no means do i think its a bad bike, but where i live in east yorkshire, it is indeed built for cycling, but this bike is not really a good contender for serious commuting or leisure, i can do about 18 mile in just over an hour, but still, i dont think its fast enough for my leisure requirements, but each to their own, i wish i had my old one overhauled, but it lasted 8 years and was run into the ground, but for money it is still reasonable 05 July 2012
Best bike Simply this is the best bike I've ever bought. It's light (approx 13kgs), looks great and is packed with features such as the type of gears used and those disc brakes are simply amazing at stopping you. It shouts quality. 29 May 2012

Very pleased indeed I've been using this cycle for a couple of weeks now and so far it ticks all the boxes. Because of the bargain price I expected the components to be second rate or for the build quality to be compromised. I was wrong on both counts. The components seem to be of very good quality and the whole feel of the bike is one of solidity. I commute 15 miles most days and it flies along. Once the brakes bedded in I became totally confident in them. Overall (in case you hadn't already guessed) I am exceptionally pleased. And a special word of thanks to Joe in the Sunderland branch for his help and patience - he made the whole process a pleasure. Gold star, Joe, and thanks again. 21 May 2012

I have the same problem, I'm using one of the Halfords scratch repair kits, which can be found in the body repair aisle.

Just pick a colour that matches your bike most closely. Apply the primer. Come back the next day and apply the colour on top. Give it another day to dry before taking it out.

We do not offer bike paint that would be suitable for this but our car paint sprays are a good alternative. We would advise that you visit your local store to get the best colour match.
